Droid Eris to be used as Disney World tour guide
The now discontinued Droid Eris handset may soon be repurposed as an advanced tour guide for Walt Disney World patrons. The GPS-connected, Android-powered device would bring guests updates on show times within the park and Epcot Center, line-up lengths at the various rides, and deals on food and merchandise.

NEw HTC Android phone shows up in Verizon system
Verizon's inventory system is showing an upcoming handset is on its way, according to ElectricPig. The unseen device, known only as the ADR6325VW at Verizon, is believed to be powered by Android rather than Windows Phone 7. The device will use a micro USB charger, just like the Droid Eris and Droid Incredible.

Report points to 2.1 on Eris before Motorola Droid
Verizon may have already begun distributing Android 2.1 updates to owners of HTC's Droid Eris handset, according to a Droid Life report. A number of users claim to have received an over-the-air update, although there are several inconsistencies to the reports. Several Eris owners allegedly received the update with HTC's Sense UI, while others did not.

Palm Pixi getting Wi-Fi, due at Verizon: FCC
A recently spotted FCC filing reveals that Palm will soon release a version of its Pixi handset that will support Verizon's network and have integrated Wi-Fi capabilities. The currently available Pixi also operates on CDMA but notably doesn't have Wi-Fi to keep its costs down.
