Droid X2 gets a taste of Gingerbread
The Motorola Droid X2 Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) update that was promised in late July is now live for all users. Users can manually initiate the update by checking for system updates from the phone’s settings menu. The update brings with it a range of enhancements that come in the upgraded OS itself, but also includes hardware-specific bug fixes.

Best Buy Cellebrite system shows Droid 3, X 2
The anticipated Droid X 2 and Droid 3 smartphones from Motorola have shown up again, this time in Best Buy's Cellebrite system. The screen capture below reveals the model numbers of the handsets, with the Droid 3 going by XT862 and the Droid X 2 getting the MB870 moniker. The listing also hints that the phones are very near a release, perhaps in a matter of weeks. The Droid X 2 is expected to arrive later in May, according to unofficial rumors.

Droid X2 rebranded X^2, keeps same casing
The frequently leaked Motorola Droid X 2 has been spotted again ahead of its launch, this time replete with official press shots. The new photos show a device that is identical to the original Droid X, although with revamped innards including an NVIDIA Tegra 2 clocked at 1.2GHz. Additionally, its official branding has now been revealed as the Droid X^2 (X-squared).

Prices for upcoming Verizon smartphones leaked
A newly leaked pricing sheet for a few upcoming smartphones at provider Verizon has shown up thanks to PhoneArena. Dates are also revealed, though they are the prices' effective dates and not release dates for the handsets. The sheet revealed that the 4G-capable Samsung Droid Charge will cost $300, for which buyers will get a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus display, a 1GHz Hummingbird CPU, and an eight-megapixel rear camera capable of recording 1080p video.

Droid X 2 seen in photos, HDMI output confirmed
The Motorola Droid X 2 has, once again, shown up in unofficial early photos thanks to AndroidCentral. There are more photos this time, showing off its settings screen. Android 2.2.2 is preloaded, though the production version is likely to have Android 2.3 by the time it ships.
