Galaxy S 4G is fastest among 4G offerings
Four handsets with the 4G moniker in their names were recently tested by MSNBC for download speeds. This includes the pre-production Galaxy S 4G due at T-Mobile, the currently available myTouch 4G from the same provider, the Sprint HTC Evo Shift 4G and AT&T's HTC Inspire 4G, along with the AT&T iPhone 4 that runs on 3G networks. The experiment found that not all 4G-labeled devices deliver the same kind of performance, which is what leads to consumer confusion.

Radio Shack has introduced a special Fresh Phone February offer. The deal utilizes its Trade&Save service to give customers an instant $50 discount towards a new phone on any phone that the choose to trade in. The deal runs from now through to March 5. The two phones on currently available to choose from are the HTC EVO 4G and the Evo Shift 4G.
Contract and off-contract pricing options detailed
A leaked shot from a Best Buy inventory appears to list the pricing for the forthcoming HTC Evo Shift 4G. According to the report by Android Police, purports that the WiMax capable phone will retail for as low as $150 on contract or $550 off-contract. Those looking to upgrade will also be charged the same $150 prices as new customers signing up to a two-year contract.
Expected to debut in early January
The forthcoming HTC EVO Shift 4G has made another unofficial appearance, this time dressed in accessories which have made an appearance in the HTCPedia Shop. Expected to ship in early January, the phone has yet to be formally announced by HTC despite it filing for a trademark on the name back in mid-November this year. The phone has also been referred to by other names including the Knight and the Speedy.
HTC files for Evo Shift 4G name with USPTO
A pair of filings with the US Patent Office discovered today have revealed that HTC will call a future 4G smartphone the Evo Shift 4G. The documents were filed on October 21, and provide the first mention of such a device. As with the HTC Evo 4G and Samsung Epic 4G, the handset is likely to arrive at Sprint when it's launched.
