Privacy group files Freedom of Information request
Thursday, the Electronic Privacy Information Center (EPIC) filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request for the unredacted FCC report on Google's Street View. Epic is also requesting any related documents used in the investigation pertinent to the 25-page, heavily-censored report that was released last week. By Google's own admission, between 2008 and 2010 their street mapping vans collected names, telephone numbers, passwords, email, medical records, media files, and other information from open and unsecure Wi-Fi routers.

EPIC says new Google policy in breach of FTC deal
The Electronic Privacy Information Center (EPIC) has sued the Federal Trade Commission for failing to stop Google from initiating recent changes to its privacy agreement with users. According to a brief statement from Epic, Google’s new privacy policy is in violation of an agreement that the FTC reached with Google in March last year following the Google Buzz privacy debacle. EPIC argues that the new policy changes do not give users the an opt in or out option as it agreed to do.

FTC complaint filed over Google Buzz
The recently launched Google Buzz social networking service is facing even more controversy today as the Electronic Privacy Information Center (EPIC) has filed a complaint with the FTC. The public interest research group says it's not satisfied with the changes Google made to help alleviate some of the initial security and privacy concerns. EPIC is urging the service to be made available at a user's request, rather than be enabled by default.
