New sensor capable of 6K resolution, 100fps video
Red Camera is allowing users of its Epic-M and Epic-X cinematography cameras to upgrade the camera to the Dragon sensor from tomorrow, the company has announced. The upgrade, previously claimed by the manufacturer to have exceeded expectations after internal testing, will let the camera film at 6K resolution at up to 100fps, and provides three additional stops over the Epic M-X.

Production system cited for 45 percent price drop
Cinematic camera maker RED has cut the prices on a number of 4K, 4.5K, and 5K Epic cameras, in what appears to be a preemptive strike on the recent camera announcement from Sony. Prices have dropped considerably in some instances, with the Epic-M now being sold for $24,000 instead of its original price of $39,500.

White-only Mysterium-X sensor with ISO of 2,000
Red Camera, the manufacturer of high-end photographic equipment used in films, has opened up pre-orders for its Epic-M Monochrome camera. Using an updated version of the white-only 5K Mysterium-X sensor, it allows for no color debayering through its one-to-one pixel count, with every individual pixel being used for luminance.
