FairSearch group complains about .search, .fly, .map
Google has come under fire from an anti-Google lobbying body over a number of generic Top Level Domains (gTLDs) it has applied for. The FairSearch group, made up of companies including Microsoft, Oracle, Nokia, Expedia and others, has filed objections with ICANN against Google's requests to control .search, .fly, .map as closed registries.

Firm sues Apple, Amazon, LinkedIn and others on same day
A new lawsuit has been filed against Apple and its iOS Developer Program for patent infringement. Delaware-based Cathas Advanced Technologies believes the iOS Developer Program infringes on two claims of a patent entitled "Web-Based Design Software for Keep-Alive Boards," according to Patently Apple. Cathas expects a “reasonable royalty” along with a payment with interest for "suffered damages."

Google may have own airline searching
Google this afternoon said it had bought airline data firm ITA for $700 million. Vice president of search Marissa Mayer billed the move as one to increase competition in searching for air travel info and said the company would use the buyout to develop flight search tools. Both companies have approved the deal but are waiting on government approval.
