Features USB and traditional quarter-inch amp connector
Apple and guitar manufacturer Fender have collaborated to produce a version of the Squier Stratocaster aimed at beginning guitarists that features iOS compatibility, a USB port, and the traditional quarter-inch analog connector for $200 in time for the holiday season. The guitar includes a Type B mini-USB to 30-pin dock connector cable that is compatible with all but the most current iPhone, iPad and iPod touch models. Thanks to its compatibility with programs such as GarageBand, the guitar makes an excellent first or practice instrument.

IK Multimedia has announced AmpliTube Fender for the iPhone and iPad. The new apps each simulate five Fender amps, including the '65 Deluxe Reverb, the SuperSonic, the '65 Twin Reverb, the '59 Bassman and the Pro Junior. They also include six Fender stompboxes: Tape Delay, Compressor, Fender Blender, Phaser, Overdrive and Noise Filter.

Fender Stratocaster Rock Band priced and dated
Fender today unwrapped details of its signature controller for Rock Band 3, the Stratocaster Guitar and Controller. The device is both a full-fledged electric guitar based on the Squier as well as a peripheral for the Harmonix game's realistic Pro Mode. Controls on the body steer both the game and the instrument's output.

Earphones set to join over-ear headphones
Marshall, famous for rock ‘n roll guitar stacks teased its first set of over-ear headphones, the Major a couple of weeks back. Due to launch on November 15, the Major is now set to be joined by the Minor, which Marshall began teasing via its Marshall Headphones newsletter today. The Minor are an earphone model styled after the guitar plug of a Fender Telecaster and the knobs off its own Marshall Amps.

Special music myTouch live at T-Mobile
As promised, T-Mobile on Wednesday began carrying the myTouch 3G Fender Limited Edition both online and at its stores. The variant on the regular myTouch is the first with a 3.5mm headphone jack and comes with a 16GB microSDHC card that includes a handful of music from well-known artists that include Eric Clapton and Wyclef Jean. Cosmetically, it brings a Fender-like wood effect finish to the normally plain design.

myTouch 3G Fender Edition official for Jan 20
T-Mobile as part of a confirmation of the myTouch 3G Fender Limited Edition's January 20th ship date also confirmed that the phone will get Android 2.1 as an upgrade in the spring. In a unique spin, it will also come with a preloaded installer for doubleTwist to sync music from iTunes and other sources on a Mac or PC.

T-Mobile myTouch Fender finally ready
A leak this afternoon has revealed that T-Mobile's myTouch 3G Fender Limited Edition is finally due to ship within a week. The phone should arrive on January 20th and will bring a number of upgrades to the original myTouch, including a native 3.5mm headphone jack, a 16GB card and its namesake guitar-like finish on both the front and back.
