KurbKarma, an app that allows users to share parking spot availability in the San Francisco area, has been updated in the App Store. Users are rewarded with KarmaKredits whenever a spot they publish is taken by another user. These points can then be used to "buy" access to nearby available parking spots. During a parking exchange users are connected directly to the publisher allowing for the exchange of a more precise location without having to reveal a phone number.

Pro videographer Larry Jordan published a preview on Sunday of Final Cut Pro X updates that Apple had promised him would come later in 2012. The current editing app should soon get RED camera support, letting it handle Redcode-capable 4K and 5K cameras like the Scarlet-X without transcoding first. Multichannel audio editing will be added to the pro video tool as well, although how this would work wasn't explained.

Yanobox, a development house that produces plugs-in for FxFactory, has debuted a new "next-generation" color grading and correction module called Moods that works with Final Cut Pro X, Motion (versions 3, 4 and 5) and Adobe's After Effects (CS3 through CS5.5). The plug-in, which can be purchased separately, features a "heads-up display" that overlays on the video, allowing for full-screen color work with HD or SD footage.

The software is used to stabilize a project's unsteady video -- supposedly six times faster than the video stabilizer built-in to FCP, Smoothcam. The plug-in utilizes an adaptive zoom feature that compensates for different levels of movement, zooming the videos framing to remove the shaking edges. The application allows users to specify which portion of the clip should be analyzed and ignores foreground motion when stabilizing the video.
