Galaxy Beam gets FCC nod for US market
Samsung's second go-round of its Galaxy Beam handset with a built-in pico projector has just shown up at the FCC. The original was introduced in early 2010, and the new one adds AT&T 1,900MHz and 850MHz support that hints at possible US plans. It otherwise gets Android 2.3 overlaid by TouchWiz and a dual-core, 1GHz CPU paired with 768MB of RAM.

We try the Samsung Galaxy Beam at MWC 2012
We got the opportunity to try the newly rekindled Samsung Galaxy Beam on the Mobile World Congress show floor and brought back impressions to match. The device in many ways behaves like a typical Android 2.3-based, TouchWiz-using Samsung phone, but it's that projector that makes all the difference. Check ahead for our first take.

Samsung Galaxy Beam remade for second try
After a brief try in 2010, Samsung has revived the Galaxy Beam, its hybrid projector and smartphone. The new version tucks in a 15-lumen pico projector that can show the phone's photos and videos, even outdoors. A dedicated app can be used to manage the content, which shows at sizes up to 50 inches.

Samsung Galaxy Beam to launch in Singapore
The first smartphone to have a built-in pico projector, the Samsung Galaxy Beam, will begin selling in Singapore on July 17. The device will first arrive in local stores on July 10, letting potential buyers get their hands on it. Its Texas Instruments-built DLP pico projector is capable of creating a six lumens image at sizes between five and 50 inches.
