Samsung changes up the MHL/HDMI interface on Galaxy S III, requires unique cable

Samsung has made the microUSB port on its Galaxy S III flagship incompatible with current MHL/video adapters, Clove found. The pin connection has been changed from the older Galaxy S II or Nexus phones, so those upgrading to the latest handset will need to buy the new accessory. Being a retailer, Clove is offering the accessory for sale on its site, priced at the equivalent of about $39, taxes inclusive.
