Live 9.1 features simultaneous windows for improved workflow, new rendering algorithm
Ableton has announced the release of the latest version of the company's flagship music software, Live 9.1. Designed for music composition and editing, Live provides users with instruments, sounds, kits and loops for creating music, as well as many effects for processing and tweaking recordings. Live 9.1 offers new displays, improved sound, and the ability to record automation into clips and edit automation with curves. Now featuring dual monitor support, Live 9.1 can run multiple windows on one monitor, or across two.
Galileo compatible with Arduino shields
Intel has announced a partnership with Arduino to build new open-source hardware for the do-it-yourself development platform. As part of the collaboration agreement, the chip maker has introduced a new board, Galileo, that is powered by the company's new Quark SoC and compatible with Arduino shield modules.
30 Satellite network to turn on in 2014
The European Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) Agency has struck a deal with the Czech government to have Prague serve as the headquarters for Galileo, the European rival to the US' Global Positioning System (GPS). The European network of 30 satellites orbiting the globe is expected to start operation in 2014. The Europeans claim that Galileo is more accurate and reliable than GPS, which began full operation in 1993.
