Popular Game Boy Advance titles now available on Wii U's eShop
Nintendo has released its first group of Game Boy Advance Virtual Console games on the Wii U online store. Available for $8 per title, current releases include strategy-based game Advance Wars, RPG Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, and side-scrolling shooter Metroid Fusion. More titles are due to roll out throughout April, such as Kirby & The Amazing Adventure, WarioWare, Super Mario Bros. 3 and others.
Nintendo this morning carried on a transformation of the DS handheld into a full-fledged media device with the DSi. The update to the once gaming-only system adds an SD card slot and 512MB of internal memory that are both key to significantly expanded features that put it into closer contention with the iPod touch and other media devices with gaming as a central feature. An outer three-megapixel camera and inner VGA (0.3 megapixels) camera that can respectively be used to snap outside photos or personal portraits; built-in image apps and games alike can use the feature.
Wii HD Rumor
Nintendo is determined to make a true next-generation console but ride the existing success of the Wii, according to a new claim made by What They Play. Citing what are only referred to as multiple sources, the publication says the system will still be directly related to the Wii and its motion-based gameplay but at last have the processing and graphics performance necessary to drive HD rather than the Wii's maximum DVD resolution. It would also reflect acknowledgments from Nintendo about the problems with limited storage on the Wii and should include some form of more permanent space to hold downloadable content.
