Dual core A6 beats quad-core Galaxy S III, Nexus 7 tablet in tests
While not confirmed as being legitimate, an iPhone 5 with the proper specification credentials has been benchmarked on the indie site Geekbench. The results show it to be the fastest smartphone on the market, with Apple's dual-core A6 (running at roughly 1GHz) beating both the Asus Nexus 7 and Samsung's Galaxy S III overall with a final score of 1,601, the highest total seen in the smartphone wars thus far. If genuine, the rating more than doubles both the iPhone 4S' score of 631 and even the 2012 iPad's 794.

MacBook Air 2011 gets our first look
We're just receiving our 2011, 13-inch MacBook Air systems and giving them our first dry run ahead of a review expected within the next few days. If you've seen our 2010 Air review, you'll know something of what to expect from the initial unpacking: it's the same extra-slim design, only with a Thunderbolt logo and a much, much appreciated backlit keyboard. 27-inch iMac core i7 bypasses some Mac Pros
Primate Labs has updated its Mac Benchmark chart, adding recent Macs to the list. The chart is a compilation of Mac-based performance scores generated from user-submitted Geekbench results. The comparison uses results from standard Macs instead of modified or overclocked systems. Numerically it uses a 1000-point baseline set to a Power Mac G5/1.6GHz machine.

Quad-core iMac near 3X faster than past gen
Electronista has received one of the first Core i5 iMacs and is putting it through its paces. Since many already are already familiar with the 27-inch iMac in Core 2 Duo form, we'll provide impressions specific to the faster model. We also have some of the first benchmarks of the system, which is Apple's first quad-core system ever outside of its Mac Pro workstations.
