Famous London retailer Harrods is launching a new Technology department on March 16th that will include an Apple Shop, a Twitter post confirms. The company is moreover promising to have new iPads in stock, although sales will only begin at 10AM. Apple's own launch time is 8AM.
Among the flurry of rumors surrounding the next iPad is a new claim emerging from retail. The tip to 9to5 had Apple's retail stores getting ready for a "big Apple Store event" peaking on March 16. With talk of a Harrods store-in-a-store and a new Houston store due to open the same day, it's considered probable that March 16 is the street date for the tablet.
RIM's high-style Porsche Design BlackBerry P'9981 has just received shipping details. It will arrive in the UK in Harrods department stores before year's end, with a steep price of £1,275 (about $2,000 at current conversion rates). This is, however, contract-free and buyers have to bring their own SIM cards.
