Nikon adds the J2 to its Nikon 1 lineup
Nikon has introduced a new mirrorless model to its Nikon 1 range, the new J2. The model is $100 cheaper than the J1 forerunner and includes some upgrades, but retains its 10.1-megapixel CX-format CMOS sensor. From a purely price perspective, it is one of the most affordable compact mirrorless interchangeable lens cameras on the market.

Nikon makes F-mount adapter available for $300
The Nikon 1 mirrorless compact camera range will get its anticipated F-mount adapter next week in Japan. The F-mount adapter will allow users of DSLR cameras who have collected standard lenses over the years use them in conjunction with the new CX-format camera. The FT1 adapter will go on sale on December 22 for the equivalent of $300.

Nikon V1, J1 show up at Amazon, due November 15
Nikon's new 1 System-based mirrorless cameras, the V1 and J1 are now available for pre-order, with a ship date of November 15 at Amazon. This is slightly behind schedule, as they were promised to be available on October 20, but may have been affected by the supply shortage due to the factory flood in Thailand. The J1 is priced at $649 while the V1 costs $899.
