Jolicloud acted on its pivot into a cloud service with the formal start of a semi-public beta of Jolicloud Me. The invitation-only option gives users a common place for their media and has unique options for finding content, such as where it's located. Users can organize content from disparate sources into individual collections.
Jolicloud has dropped its netbook OS focus in favor of a new beta service. The new framework hopes to unify multiple cloud services, such as Dropbox, Facebook, iCloud, and narrower services like Flickr, Instagram, or Spotify. Once linked up, content will show up in a central feed.
As promised, Jolicloud is now offering Joli OS 1.2 for download. The cloud-based operating system has made finding, making and sharing web apps easier than before. The app creation process is the new part, letting users quickly create simple apps.
