Australian hardware maker Kogan has introduced four new Agora-branded devices on Thursday. This includes the Agora Internet TV Portal that promises to bring the web and access to the Android Market to users' TVs, the Agora 7-inch Tablet PC, and Agora 12-inch Laptop along with a Pro version of the notebook. The netbooks run on Ubuntu Linux 11.04 while the other devices depend on Android 2.2.
A look at a pre-production version of Australia's Kogan Agora netbook was made possible on Thursday, revealing its specs as company founder Ruslan Kogan demonstrated a couple of the models at the offices of PC Authority. The 10-inch netbooks, first announced at the end of February, ran on both gOS Linux and Windows 7, with black and white examples shown, even though the final version will be sold only in black. The CPU will be Intel's 1.6GHz Atom N270, while the hard drive has a 160GB capacity, both netbook staples.

Australia's Kogan on Friday delayed its Agora smartphones for an indefinite amount of time due to a conflict between their designs and Google's Android mobile operating system. Company namesake Ruslan Kogan explains that production had just started but that Android's standards for app resolutions may render a significant number of apps incompatible with the resolution of the Agora's 2.5-inch screen. Redesigning the phone is necessary to avoid unnecessarily limiting users, Kogan says.
Relatively small-scale electronics maker Kogan today revealed it would be the second company after HTC to ship phones based on Google's Android platform. The Agora and Agora Pro both use the open-source operating system to give the phone a full HTML web browser, a media player, and access to Google-specific services like Google Maps and Gmail without the cost and performance overhead of rivals like Windows Mobile.
