Linux founder Torvalds lets fly at Nvidia

Linus Torvalds, one of the living legends of the computer industry as the genius behind Limux, has used a forum hosted by Aalto Center for Entrepreneurship in Otaniemi, Finland to vent his frustration with Nvidia. As the clip embedded below highlights, Torvalds was responding to a question from a woman in the audience about the technical trouble she was experiencing trying to run Linux using a notebook with an Nvida GPU.

Linux's creator, Linus Torvalds, after 10 earlier candidates, has finally frozen the OS and made it available for download (free, GIT version). Key features of the latest version include support for NFC chips and Wii Controllers.

Torvalds: Leopard file system "utter crap"

Linux creator blasts 10.5

Linux creator Linus Torvalds recently blasted Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard for having a file system that is "complete and utter crap" at a Linux conference in Melbourne. According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Torvalds says that while he prefers Leopard to Windows Vista, both companies are guilty of using their respective operating systems as a way of exacting control over their users, forcing both software and hardware upgrades upon them. This was in response to a query on what he felt regarding the two systems.
