Cyberattack exposes 50M LivingSocial users' data

LivingSocial issues warning for users in all countries

Daily deals coupon site LivingSocial has issued a warning to its customers that their user data may have been breached in a recent cyberattack. The company last week reported an attack on its systems that gave malicious parties access to as many as 50 million users' names, email addresses, dates of birth, and "encrypted passwords," according to Reuters. The company says it is working with law enforcement to investigate the issue.

Cathas claims patent infringement by iOS Developer program

Firm sues Apple, Amazon, LinkedIn and others on same day

A new lawsuit has been filed against Apple and its iOS Developer Program for patent infringement. Delaware-based Cathas Advanced Technologies believes the iOS Developer Program infringes on two claims of a patent entitled "Web-Based Design Software for Keep-Alive Boards," according to Patently Apple. Cathas expects a “reasonable royalty” along with a payment with interest for "suffered damages."
