Phone said ot be headed for North America
The Bluetooth industry association appears to have indirectly confirmed the existence of Nokia's Lumia 710 handset. The mystery device was first referenced in rumors ahead of CES, however Nokia has yet to make an official announcement.
Nokia beats market consensus, but profit down
Nokia has posted its financial results (pdf) revealing better than expected results. The Finnish company reports that it has sold ‘well over’ 1 million Windows Phone-based smartphones in combined sales of the Lumia 710 and the Lumia 800. However, while its core earnings beat market consensus, they were still down 73 percent as it sold less Symbian-based smartphones than it had forecast.
Windows Phone reaches new milestone in quick timeT
The Windows Phone Marketplace has reached its latest milestone, cracking the 60,000 app barrier. The figure comes some 14 months after the launch of Windows Phone 7 in October 2010 when it launched with just 1,000 apps. It had reached its previous milestone of 50,000 apps at the end of December showing a sudden acceleration as it has added a further 10,000 apps in just the past 25 days.

Promo shots for the Nokia Lumia 710 for T-Mobile and the LG Spectrum for Verizon have surfaced on the Net. The Lumia 710 is the first of Nokia’s Windows 7 phones to officially hit the US market and is expected to be formally unveiled this Wednesday. The rumored LG Revolution 2 will arrive on the Verizon network as the LG Spectrum.
