Maxell Flash Memory Cards
Best known for its optical storage, Maxell today entered the realm of flash memory with its first four products in the category. The first offerings are headlined by a USB flash drive that, in an uncommon turn, has its own microSDHC card reader to support memory from phones and other small handhelds without giving up permanent storage of its own. A microSDHC card line is also coming from Maxell itself.

Maxell intros iPod earbuds
Maxell on Wednesday announced it will soon release noise-cancelling earbud headphones that are compatible with 4th or newer generation iPods and the first and second-gen iPod touch. (however, the iPhone 3G is not supported). The headphones plug in via the dock connector, as they draw power from the device to perform their function -- the company says the power draw is significant enough to reduce the battery life of the iPod by between about 33 percent and 50 percent.

Maxell iPod, iPhone cradle
Maxell has replaced its long-running MXSP-1000 cradle speaker for Apple's range of iPod music players with the MXSP-1100, which is compatible with the iPhone and refreshed iPod range. The cylindrical speaker system features two 1.8-inch, 4.2W speakers. Frequency response ranges from 80Hz to 20kHz. The speaker system has controls for the attached Apple music player's play, pause track control and volume adjustment.
