Cloud service has seen 300 percent increase in uploads over six months

Kim Dotcom, founder of the legally-troubled internet storage locker service Megaupload, believes that the entities involved in the case of his previous business venture are at least partially responsible for the growth of his newest service, Mega. Boasting upload growth since November in a graph posted by Dotcom, Mega has seen a 300 percent growth over the past six months.

Microsoft's Xbox One is set to have an update released, addressing issues encountered by users since the console's launch. The update is due February 11th, featuring issue corrections regarding storage management, and the addition of a battery life indicator for the console's controller. Libraries will be split into two separate lists of 'My Games' and 'My Apps', as to simplify file searches. Also expected in the update is the added ability to use a USB keyboard with the console.

Windows Phone to get Mega cloud storage service in 2014

Windows Phone 8 users won't be left out of access to the Mega cloud storage service, the Kim Dotcom-helmed company revealed last week. A Reddit user posted confirmation from Mega, with the company saying it plans to build an app for Microsoft's smartphone platform. The company was not very specific regarding a launch date for the Windows Phone 8 Mega app, but it did point to early 2014 as a launch window.

Samsung set for quick sequel to Galaxy Gear

Even though the Samsung Galaxy Gear smartwatch has yet to hit store shelves, rumors have already surfaced of a sequel that could be revealed as soon as CES 2014, reports The Korea Times. The Galaxy Gear 2 is expected to be a more refined iteration of the original device which was apparently rushed to market on the back of Apple iWatch speculation and to gauge public interest in smartwatches. The updated device is also expected to add an on board GPS module, adding to the Galaxy Gear’s already feature filled specifications.

Large Samsung smartphone appearing on three US carriers later this month

Following a leak on the weekend, Samsung has confirmed that the 6.3-inch model of the Galaxy Mega with LTE connectivity will be going on sale in the United States later this month. The Galaxy Mega 6.3 will be available on AT&T, Sprint, and US Cellular, with the former also stating it will be on sale through the carrier on August 23rd.

Android app already available, iOS and Windows to 'follow suit'

Cloud storage service Mega is in the "final stages" of developing native apps for iOS and Windows, according to an official blog post. The company yesterday released an Android app which supports uploading, downloading, and sharing files, folder management, and Dropbox-style automatic camera sync. Mega hasn't said what features the iOS and Windows apps will have, but the iOS title will likely have to limit some features to satisfy Apple rules.

Samsung has made the Galaxy Mega 5.8 and 6.3 official. The new ‘phablets’ sit above the Galaxy Note 2 in screen size, although neither offers a stylus input. Further, the new Mega range omit quad-core CPUs for dual-core chips and forgo high-resolution OLED displays for lower resolution TFT LCD displays. However, each also incorporates the ‘Air View’ feature that will debut on the new Galaxy S 4, and will run a number of software tweaks also featured on the new flagship handset.
