Cisco to buy Cariden Technologies for $141

Cisco to buy network traffic-management software company

Cisco announced today that it would be purchasing Cariden Technologies, a privately-held traffic management software maker. The networking giant will pay about $141 million in total for Cariden, which supplies network planning and design solutions for telecoms. The move is Cisco's third major acquisition in a month.

Cisco buys cloud-networking service Meraki for $1.2 Bn

MIT research project bought for networking know-how

Cisco has acquired cloud startup Meraki for a reported $1.2 billion. The deal, entirely in cash, sees the networking giant take control of the networking infrastructure service, which offers mid-sized organizations on-site Wi-Fi networking, security, and cloud-based management software at a relatively low cost.
