Battery-boosting case manufacturer Mophie has used Mobile World Congress to show off its new iPhone 5 case, shortly after putting the Juice Pack Helium on the market. The Mophie Juice Pack Air for iPhone 5 takes the same concept of previous incarnations, but this time it is designed to house the extra size of the iPhone 5, along with a number of slight adjustments.
Extending its range of battery-boosting cases for mobile devices, Mophie has commenced a pre-sale program for its Mophie Juice Pack Helium for the iPhone 5. The case boasts an 80 percent increase in battery life, adding up to six hours of Internet use on the LTE network in a case only 6/10ths of an inch thick, 2.49 inches wide, and 5.49 inches long.
As expected, Mophie has now released its first juice pack auxiliary battery case for a non-iOS device. The latest juice pack case will nearly double the battery life of Samsung's Galaxy S III. The 2,300mAh battery embedded in the case is said to provide up to seven extra hours of talk time on 4G, or 9 additional hours of web browsing, or 32 hours of audio playback.
Mophie is gearing up to release its first battery case for a non-iOS handset. The Juice Pack for Samsung Galaxy S III is claimed to add more than 100 percent to the existing battery life of the Android smartphone, according to Engadget. This could potentially see the handset run for over 21 hours, double that of the 10 hours 20 minutes when used for 3G calls during tests.
Purveyor of iPhone accessories Mophie's Juice Pack Plus is now available at both Apple's online and retail stores. The battery pack adds a 2000 mAh battery in a slim case, adding only one mm of thickness to the iPhone. The add-on battery case solution provides both protection for the iPhone and effectively doubles the device's energy reserves.
Mophie announced its largest battery case compatible with the iPhone 4 and 4S -- the Juice Pack Pro. The case has been tested against military specification MIL-STD 810G, and boasts a 2,500 mAh capacity lithium-ion polymer battery. The polycarbonate and silicone case increases the dimensions of the iPhone to 5.26 inches long, 2.78 inches wide, and 1.02 inches thick -- more than three times as thick as a stock iPhone 4. All models of iPhone 4 and 4S on any carrier are compatible with the case.
Two online petitions that look to address issues around claims of factory worker abuse among the Chinese suppliers of Apple and other electronics firms have been launched online, while accessory maker Mophie has won a case against a counterfeit case producer in Texas.
Best Buy and Mophie have announced recalls for certain iPhone and iPod battery packs. In the case of the iPhone, Best Buy has issued a recall notice for its Rocketfish branded iPhone 3G and 3GS battery case. Mophie has also issued a recall notice for its battery cases for the iPod touch 4G. In both instances, the packs have experienced overheating problems, which could result in a fire.

The iPod touch 4 has a new battery pack option today, as mophie has launched the Juice Pack Air Rechargeable External Battery Case for iPod touch 4G. The ultra-thin design features a built-in 1,000mAh lithium polymer battery that adds 34 hours of audio or six hours of video playback, nearly doubling the iPod's built in battery capacity. The case offers fast charging, taking 100 minutes to charge the device from a 20-percent remaining level. Charging can be turned off and saved for later using a toggle switch on the case.

Mophie on Thursday revealed three new battery packs for Apple's iPhone, iPod touch and iPad devices. This includes the juice pack universal reserve, boost and power station. All sport a retractable connector to hook up to the devices and power them up. The quick-charge units have LED status indicators, with the reserve and boost doubling as LED flashlights.
Mophie today promised to give Japanese iPhone owners much-requested support for FeliCa wireless payments. The team-up with two local firms will see a version of Mophie's casing that uses the same RFID wireless as the Sony standard. Mophie today broadcast its intent to get into mobile payment by unveiling early details of a credit card reader for the iPhone. Battery packs for iPhones often dramatically extend the useful lifetime of Apple's devices, but they also add considerable bulk and rarely feel like natural extensions of the iPhone itself. Mophie is very much a veteran of iPhone battery packs, having built one for the original when the market was still largely untested. The Juice Pack for iPhone 3G is an opportunity for the company to take a definitive lead, and in many senses it's still one of the best -- but, as quickly becomes clear, it's a conservative approach that leaves room for improvement. Mophie on Monday unveiled the Juice Pack 3G, an updated version of its battery extender for the iPhone, offering new 3G owners similar enhancement to the device's run time. The Juice Pack 3G allows users to operate the iPhone 3G for an extra 350 hours on standby, while allowing for an additional six hours of talk time (12 on 2G) and internet, another eight hours for video playback, and 28 hours of audio. Mophie is offering the Juice Pack 3G for $100, and it will ship in September.
iPod accessory manufacturer Mophie today unveiled the Ratchet 360° Belt Clip Swivel case for the iPhone, iPod touch, 3G Nano and Classic. The case includes a Base Case silicone sleeve, which the Ratchet then tightly grips from the sides, and pivots to store the device at any angle. Mophie offers the Ratchet 360° in two color combinations: pink/black, and grey/black, with a clear Base Case. It is currently selling for $20 for the iPod nano and Classic, while the iPhone and Touch model sell for $30.
Mophie on Wednesday announced it is shipping the Juice Pack – an iPhone battery extender – and that it is the first company to achieve certified "Works with iPhone" recognition for a battery extension product. The extender adds 250 hours of standby time, while also featuring eight hours talk time, 6 hours of internet usage, 7 hours of video playback, and 24 hours of iPod functionality. Mophie is currently shipping the Juice Pack for $100, and is available directly from Mophie, mStation, or select retailers.
mStation today announced several additions to its product lineup in time for CES 2008, with new iPod and iPhone cases and a new incarnation of its 2.1 Stereo Orb. The mStation 2.1 Stereo Orb II comes in several new colors that compliment the look and feel of the 3G iPod nanos, with a choice of the following: red, black, green, pink, and silver. The speaker system is compatible with any iPod and the iPhone, as well as being able to sync with iTunes through the included USB connection. Users can control the unit with a 10-key remote, or through the embedded controls on the Orb II itself. The mStation 2.1 Stereo Orb II will be available during the first quarter of 2008 for $130.
