Light, human sensors adjust monitor brightness automatically
NEC Display has extended its MultiSync EA range with a 24-inch LED-backlit IPS monitor. The EA244WMI screen has many of the same features, such as the wide 178-degree viewing angles and standard 1920x1080 resolution, as its 22-inch predecessor that was released four months ago, but in a larger screen size.
NEC adds EA224WMi to 1080p LED monitor range
NEC is has rolled out its latest 22-inch monitor in its MultiSync EA range, the EA224WMi. It incorporates an IPS planer for wider viewing angles and minimal color shift and offers a standard 1920x1080 resolution with a 16:9 aspect ratio. The use of LED backlighting helps it achieve its EPEAT Gold eco status, while it also lends itself to a thinner design and a lower weight.
NEC shows two new monitors for home, business use
NEC just introduced two new monitors, with the ultra-slim, 20-inch MultiSync EX201W and 24-inch MultiSync P241W for professionals. The former is meant for home use or business applications and offers a 1600x900 resolution and a relatively slim 16.4mm thickness. It also has a 25,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio and a 1,000:1 typical contrast ratio.
NEC intros EX231W LCD with DisplayPort
NEC has quietly put out a new 23-inch LCD, the MultiSync EX231W, that it promises will use technology to gain its green credentials. The design has both an ambient light sensor to automatically lower brightness but also has a motion sensor to check for inactivity and go dark when the user is away. LED backlighting and a manual override in Eco Mode cut back on the power even while active.
NEC adds larger 27-inch MultiSync pro display
NEC had released its second professional display monitor after the initial MultiSync PA241W with the 27-inch MultiSync PA271W. The new display has a 10-bit p-IPS panel with a resolution of 2560x1440, along with internal 14-bit programmable 3D lookup tables. At the same time, NEC released its MultiProfiler display configuration application and SpectraViewII version 1.1.04 color calibration.
NEC intros MultiSync PA Series LCD monitors
NEC on Monday said it will release a new MultiSync PA Series monitor range with the 24-inch MultiSync PA241W as the first product. The series will replace the current MultiSync 90 displays and is meant for professional graphic designers or other professionals that need accurate color reproduction. It reaches 102 percent coverage of the NTSC color space and 99.3 percent of Adobe RGB, which is nearly three quarters better than the outgoing model.
NEC MultiSync EA231WMi
NEC on Tuesday entered into the field of DisplayPort-capable displays through the 23-inch MultiSync EA231WMi. The full-size connector gives owners of newer computers a future-proof display option and comes alongside DVI and VGA inputs for those using older or less compatible formats. It also brings new features for the company outside of this, such as an ambient light sensor and a new multi-directional pad for navigating on-display menu options.
NEC LCD2490WUXi2 Japan
NEC today improved its longstanding MultiSync 90 series displays with a low-key update to its core 24-inch model. The LCD2490WUXi2 improves on the original WUXi with a newer 12-bit color lookup table that improves the visible gamut as well as general improvements to color brightness and stability. It continues to offer a 1,000:1 static contrast ratio and musters 320cd/m2 brightness.
NEC EA241WM and EA191M
NEC this morning expanded its MultiSync EA screens for higher-end home and pro users with a pair of slightly smaller models. Headlining the updates, the 24-inch EA241WM has the same 1920x1200 resolution as the 26-inch flagship and finds room for a full pivoting display as well as hidden, chin-mounted stereo speakers, a carrying handle and a four-port USB hub. The panel has a now-typical 1,000:1 contrast ratio but is fairly bright at 400cd/m2.
NEC MultiSync EA221WM
NEC added just its second EA series display on Tuesday through the MultiSync EA221WM. The 22-inch panel is billed as one of NEC's more complete models with support for pivoting the LCD into portrait mode as well as height, swivel, and tilt adjustments. It also carries a four-port USB hub, hidden stereo speakers and both HDCP-encrypted DVI as well as regular VGA inputs for its video sources.
