Thinner bezel, Android KitKat appears in alleged Nexus 10 images

Images claiming to show the Google Nexus 10 have appeared online, allegedly suggesting that the device is being created by LG, instead of preceding manufacturer Samsung. If true, this would mean that LG would not only be producing the Nexus 5, but also the Nexus 10, leaving the Nexus 7 tablet alone in being manufactured by Asus.

8MP camera, 2560x1600 display touted in upcoming Google tablet

New specifications for what is believed to be the Nexus 10 have allegedly leaked, with details apparently appearing on the Google Play store before being removed again, just as it did for the Nexus 5. The display of the Nexus 10 will apparently have a resolution of 2560x1600, giving it a pixel density of 300ppi, and protected by Gorilla Glass 3.

Google could be planning to launch an updated Nexus 10 tablet in the coming weeks, according to a leaked store inventory screenshot. The claimed image from a retailer's inventory system arrives at the same time as another rumor suggesting a change of manufacturer for the Nexus 7 tablet could also be on the cards for next year.

Next Nexus 10 set to be designed and manufactured by Asus

Evidence is starting to mount that Asus will be making the second-generation Nexus 10, replacing Samsung in doing so. Asus already makes the Google Nexus (2013) following on from the 2012 iteration it also manufactured. This would leave Samsung without any known Nexus devices in the pipeline, with its archrival LG producing the Google Nexus 4 and is strongly suspected to be behind the Nexus 5 sequel as well.

Google switching from Samsung to Asus for Nexus 10

Google may be consolidating manufacturers for its Nexus line of tablets this year, as an inventory screen spotted by Geek.com suggests the device will be manufactured by Asus. Should the screenshot's prediction prove accurate, it would represent a change from last year's model, which was manufactured by Samsung. It is possible, though, that the inventory screenshot, which appears to come from an electronics retailer's system, contains filler or incorrect information.

Google has added the first official accessory for its Nexus 10 tablet, some six months after its October launch. The new Nexus 10 Book Cover attaches to the rear side of the device and offers protection to the front of the device only. It is the latest in a line of Nexus accessories to debut months after its companion device first went on sale, while an official dock for the Nexus 10 previously depicted is still to yet go on sale.

Google has started rolling out the latest version of Android to Galaxy Nexus (GSM), Nexus 7 (GSM) and Nexus 10 users, reports Android Police. The ‘Jelly Bean’ update carries the build number JDQ39, although little is known about what the latest build brings with it. One likely fix included in the latest patch is expected to rectify a glitch reported by users when streaming audio over Bluetooth A2DP.

Google has started to sell the 3G-enabled version of the Nexus 7 in Japan, alongside the existing Wi-Fi models. The Wi-Fi + 3G Android tablet, with 32GB of storage and support for W-CDMA and HSPA+, has gone on sale a few days after it's 10-inch counterpart, the Nexus 10, reached the same regional Google Play store.

Chitika sees iPad share dropping 7.14 percent over holidays

Apple's iPad and iPad mini may have been a top-selling item over the holiday period, but entries from competitors sold strongly enough to slightly loosen Cupertino's stranglehold on the tablet sector. This according to new figures out from Chitika Insights, which looked at hundreds of millions of smartphone and tablet ad impressions from December 1 to December 27, 2012 in Canada and the United States. Chitika found that tablets from Amazon, Samsung, Google, and Microsoft gained a combined total of 5.5 percent market share over that period, while Apple's iPad lost 7.14 percent share.

A dock for the Google Nexus 10 has appeared in a holiday-themed video. Making a brief appearance in a YouTube video entitled "Happy Holidays from Android," the previously unannounced accessory appears alongside a craft-based dock for the Nexus 4 made from paper, and the Nexus 7-specific dock already known about.

Nexus 10 shows up at Staples, sells out

Tablet available for pick-up at Walmart

Google's quick-selling Nexus 10 tablet, out of stock in the Play Store for weeks, was briefly available for purchase yesterday from Staples' online outlet before selling out quickly there as well. The 10-inch, high-resolution tablet is also said to be available for in-person purchase at Staples stores, as well as at some physical Walmart locations. Walmart's website has the 32GB Nexus 10 available for in-store pickup and home delivery, though the earliest customers can expect it to arrive is December 27. Sam's Club also has a product page for the 32GB model, but it is currently listed as out of stock for delivery.

Number of tablets, handsets sell out quickly

Google has put the Nexus 4 and Nexus 10 on sale in Europe and Australia through the Play Store, with the US version expected to go live later today. As well as the new mobile devices, Google has also listed a Nexus 4 Bumper for £16 ($25), which as an edge-protecting case that does not provide protection for the back, echoing the design of the Apple iPhone 4 bumpers.

Asus has revealed that it is now shipping upwards of 1 million Nexus 7 tablets a month, reports the Wall Street Journal. It is the first insight into just how well the Nexus 7 tablet is faring, although Google has yet to reveal its official sales figures for the device. On launch the Nexus 7 quickly sold out of its initial product run, with its $199 starting price being one of its main attractions.

As version 4.2 is an iterative update, it retains the Jelly Bean moniker introduced with version 4.1. The new version brings a number of new features, including multiple user accounts for tablets and improvements to the camera app.

Even though its official unveiling event was canceled, Google has pressed ahead and revealed the devices it meant to reveal today, including the rumored 10-inch tablet meant to take on Apple's iPad. The search giant revealed in its Google Play Store today the Samsung-built Nexus 10, a Wi-Fi only tablet that will run the latest version of Google's Android operating system, version 4.2 Jelly Bean. The company also refreshed its quick-selling line of Nexus 7 tablets, introducing a higher storage capacity as well as a cellular-enabled model.

Nexus event delayed due to super storm

Google has sent out an email to press participants informing them that the Nexus event scheduled for Monday, October 29, has been canceled. The cancellation comes as New York prepares to take the brunt of a "perfect storm," in which Hurricane Sandy is predicted to strike the city as a hybrid of hurricane and nor'easter. The search giant has not given any information on when a rescheduled event might be held.

Just a day after images of the device's manual leaked and gave an impression of its build, images of the actual Nexus 10 tablet have now emerged on the Internet, showing what the device looks like in real life. The Samsung-made Nexus tablet is expected to launch alongside a slew of Nexus devices early next week, and the new images suggest that the Nexus tablet will be attempting to take on Apple's iPad not only in terms of specs, but also in build quality.

Image resolution suggests 3.1-megapixel camera

An Executive from Google has put photographs taken by the Nexus 10 online. Appearing on the Google+ page of Vic Gundotra, Senior Vice President of Engineering, the images have reportedly been taken using the onboard camera, and uploaded before the "Playground is Open" event on October 29th.

Google's October 29 event will almost certainly feature a new 10-inch Nexus tablet manufactured by Samsung, as images of a manual for the device have now surfaced online. The images reveal the general design lines of the Nexus 10, but give no indication as to its build materials. From the diagrams in the manual, the Nexus 10 appears to sport a design aesthetic reminiscent of Samsung's Galaxy Note 10.1.
