White version of Google smartphone identical in specification to original
A white version of the Google Nexus 4 smartphone could be released in the next month. A rumor suggests the white mobile device will become available through Google Play on the 10th of June, and will be accompanied by the release of the next iteration of the Android mobile operating system, version 4.3.

Nexus 4 successor reportedly in the works
Google may be working with South Korean electronics manufacturer LG in order to develop a follow-up to last year's Nexus 4 handset. The rumored handset could be a retooling of the existing device, as was reported last month, but it may in fact be a new and distinct Nexus phone. The two companies are said to be discussing how they can further collaborate going forward.

Android smartphone to catch up with other flagship devices
Google is working to manufacture a 32GB version of the Nexus 4 with LTE support, according to a rumor. The smartphone built with LG, will reportedly receive a boost in storage from the 8GB and 16GB models already available, along with the speedy 4G LTE connectivity seen in other flagship smartphones.

Source code available for developers
Canonical has announced that it is set to release the first public preview of its Ubuntu Phone operating system for smartphones. The initial release will be available in two builds, one for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus and another for LG's Nexus 4, while source code will also be posted for developers to begin working on installations for other devices.

Google finally makes Qi wireless charger available for Nexus 4
After launching the Nexus 4 in late October, Google has finally made the companion wireless charging orb for the device available on the Play store. Although users have been able to take advantage of the Nexus 4 wireless charging capabilities using third-party solutions, the official companion device has been almost as sought after as the Nexus 4 itself. Since its launch, the Nexus 4 has often been listed as out of stock on Play stores around the globe with it only recently becoming more readily available on January 29.

Google Nexus 4 in white leaked ahead of launch
A white version of Google’s popular LG-manufactured Nexus 4 smartphone has surfaced thanks to an anonymous Phone Arena source. The device had previously been rumored to arrive late last year, but has not materialized until now. LG has had trouble matching supply with demand for the original black model, which could explain why it has been delayed.

LG said to prep new Nexus devices for MWC
The LG-produced Nexus 4 smartphone, which Google has had significant trouble keeping in stock, may be put on the back burner by the Korean manufacturer in favor of newer Nexus handsets set to debut soon. At CES last week, LG Electronics senior vice president James Fisher hinted that the Nexus 4 was just "the first of many" Nexus products the company was working on, with the implication being that LG could be rolling out a Nexus tablet or smartphone device in the near future. Observers believe that LG could launch its next Nexus device as soon as this year's Mobile World Congress, to be held in Barcelona in late February.

IMEI, LG website key to handset sales figures
Users of the Google Nexus 4 may have worked out how many devices have shipped, with initial estimates bordering around 400,000 by the end of last year. Owners of the LG smartphone have used IMEI and serial numbers supplied with each handset to work out how many were produced, as well as other production details, in lieu of officially-released sales numbers.

Nexus 4 goes back on sale, sells out quickly
The return of Google's Nexus 4 to the Canadian Play Store appears to have been as brief as return in other countries, as Canadian buyers will now see the 8GB model listed as out of stock and the 16GB model shipping in six to seven weeks. Google sent out word earlier today that the device would be available at 12:00 PM PST for Canadian Play Store shoppers, but Electronista's most recent look at the Nexus 4's product page indicates that it has sold out within a half-hour of becoming available.

Second round of unlocked Nexus 4 units sells out
The 8GB model of the Nexus 4 smartphone, produced by Google and LG, is once again listed as out of stock, while the 16GB model is said to be shipping in six to seven weeks. This marks the second time that the unlocked handset, which runs the latest version of Android, has sold out, demonstrating continuing demand for the low-priced flagship phone. The Play Store product page for the handset gives no details on when consumers can expect the 8GB model to be back in stock.

Nexus 4 back in stock after early sell-out
After selling out within a half hour of its initial availability, the LG-built Nexus 4 smartphone will be available again this afternoon at 12:00 PST. This according to emails sent out by Google to customers who had received backorder notices during the initial sales run of the device. There is no word on when the new wave of Nexus phones will begin shipping.

Google advertised T-Mobile Nexus 4 sale before ell out
T-Mobile has sold out of the LG-made Nexus 4 smartphone from Google just a few hours after the announcement of a special sale on the device. Google today began advertising a special offer whereby T-Mobile customers could get the Nexus 4 for $199 with the activation of a two-year contract and a $50 mail-in rebate. A look at the product page for the T-Mobile Nexus 4 currently shows it as out of stock, though it is possible that the device may be in stock at T-Mobile's physical locations.

Nexus 4 shown to work on Band 4 (AWS) LTE
A senior member on the XDA Developers forums has demonstrated that the Google Nexus 4 made by LG can offer at least limited support for LTE networks. Analysis of the hardware in the Nexus 4 reveals that it contains a baseband chip that can support some LTE networks. However, Google opted not to pursue full LTE capability in order to deliver a one-model handset that would work on any network around the globe, leaving it saddled with 3G HSPA by default.

Nexus 4 customers told to expect three weeks to ship
The LG-built Nexus 4 smartphone debuted to a quick sell-out this week, and reportedly some customers have begun receiving word that shipments of their devices will be delayed. Google has been sending out email notifications to some Nexus 4 customers informing them that, due to "overwhelming demand," their Nexus 4 units are on backorder. The units are expected to ship within three weeks.

Google's new Nexus 4 smartphone debuted to quick sales today, as customers exhausted the Google Play Store's supply of the device within a half hour of its release. A look at the Nexus 4's product page shows that both the 8GB and 16GB models of the new LG-built Nexus smartphone now show "coming soon" for their availability, indicating that they are out of stock at least temporarily. The 32GB model of the Samsung-produced Nexus 10 tablet also appears to have sold out shortly after its release, though 16GB units are still available.

Number of tablets, handsets sell out quickly
Google has put the Nexus 4 and Nexus 10 on sale in Europe and Australia through the Play Store, with the US version expected to go live later today. As well as the new mobile devices, Google has also listed a Nexus 4 Bumper for £16 ($25), which as an edge-protecting case that does not provide protection for the back, echoing the design of the Apple iPhone 4 bumpers.

Google Play price far below prices of European retailer
Google may be subsidizing the cost of the Nexus 4 for its customers. While the Android smartphone is priced at $300 on the Google Play store, the same cannot be said for sales to retailers and networks. Phone House, Spanish mobile phone retailer and part of the Carphone Warehouse group claim that LG are selling them far higher.

New version brings new camera app, multiple accounts
Along with its new Nexus smartphone and Nexus tablets revealed today, Google announced the newest version of its Android operating system, version 4.2 Jelly Bean. As version 4.2 is an iterative update, it retains the Jelly Bean moniker introduced with version 4.1. The new version brings a number of new features, including multiple user accounts for tablets and improvements to the camera app.

Nexus 4 to cost $299 for 8GB, $349 for 16GB
With the official unveiling canceled in light of Hurricane Sandy, Google has gone ahead to officially announce the Nexus 4, the latest in its line of partner-built devices that run an unaltered version of its Android operating system. The new LG-built Nexus smartphone will go on sale in the United States on November 13. It will be available in two models, an 8GB unit retailing for $299 and a 16GB model selling for $349.

An apparent quick start guide for the forthcoming Nexus 4 smartphone from LG has leaked to the Internet, revealing new details on the Nexus 4's storage, as well as a wireless charging feature. The charging feature -- previously seen in Palm's Touchstone-compatible handsets and the forthcoming Windows 8 Lumia devices from Nokia -- was not apparent in any previous information leaks on the new Google-LG smartphone.

Nexus event delayed due to super storm
Google has sent out an email to press participants informing them that the Nexus event scheduled for Monday, October 29, has been canceled. The cancellation comes as New York prepares to take the brunt of a "perfect storm," in which Hurricane Sandy is predicted to strike the city as a hybrid of hurricane and nor'easter. The search giant has not given any information on when a rescheduled event might be held.

Nexus 4 gets dated, priced at UK retailer Carphone Warehouse
Right on the footsteps of yesterday's leak of new images of the handset, UK-based cellphone retailer Carphone Warehouse briefly posted a listing of the LG-made Nexus 4. The listed ship date was October 30, which also coincides closely with a Google event on October 29 where the handset is expected to be officially unveiled. Otherwise, the listing is somewhat confusing, as it lists both Android 4.2 and Android 4.1.2 will be aboard the handset.

LG Nexus 4 expected to be officially unveiled at October 29 event
More photos of the upcoming LG Nexus 4 handset have surfaced online thanks to evleaks. This time around, however, they're not in-the-wild shots, but more official-looking promotional shots that also, for the first time, show the Nexus branding on the rear. These images are a further indication that the handset will launch sometime next week.
