Samsung to upgrade most, but leasves T-Mo open

Samsung has posted an upgrade guide for the US that shows just which devices in the country will get an Android 4.0 update. Galaxy S II variants at AT&T, including the regular and Skyrocket versions as well as the Epic 4G Touch, are slated to get the new OS. The Galaxy Note also gets an update, while the Nexus S and Nexus S 4G either have or already are getting their upgrades.

Sprint gives Nexus S 4G long awaited upgrade

Sprint confirmed and started rolling out its Android 4.0 update for Nexus S 4G owners. Users get the Android 4.0.4 update in a largely unmodified form. The update keeps hardware-specific Android 4.0 features like Android Beam transfers and Google Wallet over NFC while preserving Sprint's WiMAX 4G.

Android 4 hits Nexus S 4G unofficially

Google's Nexus S 4G got its own early peek at Android 4.0 Sunday with a leaked copy of the Android 4.0.4 update. Both raw firmware and a companion tool, Odin, let BriefMobile bring Sprint's unique phone up to date ahead of its undetermined official upgrade. Early users report WiMAX performance being improved as part of the leap from Android 2.3.

Google Wallet to reach 10 more Sprint devices in 2012

Expands tap-and-pay support to additional devices

Sprint will be adding to the number of its devices supporting Google Wallet. The wireless carrier used a panel discussion at the Mobile World Congress to reveal that it will offer support for the NFC-based mobile payment app on at least ten more smartphones or tablets during the course of 2012. Sprint currently has made the mobile payment system available on the Nexus S 4G and will support it on their soon to be released version of the Galaxy Nexus.

Google fixes prepaid card Wallet doubling issue

Google revealed that its has restored the ability to issue new prepaid cards to its Google Wallet as of Monday afternoon. The service was put on hold on Saturday as a problem allowed users to re-provision an existing prepaid card to another user. This issue has also reportedly been addressed, and Google said it hasn't recorded any known abuse of the flaw.

Galaxy Nexus on Verizon, Nexus S 4G degraded

(Update: Google follow-up An investigation into Google's supported device has revealed that Google has quietly demoted the CDMA version of the Galaxy Nexus. The Verizon model, and possibly the upcoming Sprint version, aren't listed anymore as supported hardware, Droid-Life said. Google now claims "no CDMA devices are supported" and has also pulled the Nexus S 4G and Verizon-edition Motorola Xoom from the list.

Unofficial Android 4.0.4 leaks out for Nexus S 4G

The Nexus S 4G may soon get an update to Android 4.0, as indicated by a leaked ROM for testing on Google's servers. While it's since been removed, one developer over at the XDA Developers forum managed to get his hands on the code and shared it. The software carries build number IMM26 and will update the handset to Android 4.0.4, which isn't officially on any device.
