Pandigital Novel 2nd gen drops LCD for e-paper
Pandigital bounced back after its heavily criticized original tablet by launching a revamped Novel. It still uses Android underneath but has switched from its criticized resistive touch LCD to a Sipix-made, 600x800 e-paper touchscreen. The design gives up color but should be more responsive, significantly extend the battery life and make it much easier to view outdoors.

Group appeals earlier court decision
SCO Group has filed an appeal in a last-ditch effort to revive the legal battle over Unix patents. The latest move arrives after seven years of unsuccessful litigation, which culminated in the jury verdict and final judgment against SCO in the US District Court for the District of Utah. Judge Ted Stewart attempted to close the case, however the judgement left room for an appeal.

Pandigital pulled from shelves for firmware fix
Pandigital on Thursday explained a halt to sales of its Novel touchscreen e-reader. The company says the device will go back on sale in about a month, and the time will be used to review the firmware that's preloaded onto the device, which was the reason for the delay. A spokesperson for the company also confirmed that a a black model will also be released that may have other features.
