OpenTable expands meal-pay service from pilot, to be available to 20 new cities
Restaurant reservations app OpenTable has announced the expansion of its payment service to an additional 20 cities by 2015. Originally launched as a pilot program in San Francisco, OpenTable's new service allows diners at participating restaurants to add a credit card to the app, and then pay their bill quickly with a few taps. The expansion is beginning with New York City, with the rest of the national expansion to follow.
OpenTable technology integrated into Siri, will continue to operate independently
Travel discount purveyor Priceline has entered into a $2.6 billion dollar sale agreement with OpenTable. The $103 per share offer for the restaurant reservation service integrated into Apple's Siri technology represents a 46 percent price premium to OpenTable's stock price at the close of business on Thursday.

Facebook is this week updating its mobile apps with several features. Among these is previously-anticipated OpenTable integration, which will allow North American users to make reservations via a restaurant's profile page. When making a reservation, people will be able to pick from a selection of available times, and specify their party's size.
OPEN:US up five percent on Yahoo's interest
Today's rumors that Yahoo is interested in acquiring OpenTable, the largest online restaurant reservation service in the US, caused shares in the service to jump the most they have in more than two months. As of 3:30 p.m. EST, OPEN:US shares were up 5.44 percent to $45.96 per share. Through October 19, OpenTable shares had risen 11 percent for the year.
Google acquires Zagat for mobile, Offers
Google made an aggressive leap Thursday with the buyout of Zagat. The deal gives it the pioneering hotel and restaurant rating guide firm for an undisclosed amount. Google was unspecific about exact details but said Zagat would be a "cornerstone of our local offering," according to Location VP Marissa Mayer.
Toyota, Salesforce team on social as Entune shown
Toyota and Salesforce on Monday teamed up on a social network for cars. Nicknamed Toyota Friend, it would put out micro updates similar to Twitter either between fellow drivers or even updates from a car. An electric or plug-in hybrid car could automatically post when it's low on battery, Toyota gave as one example.
