Optoma has introduced its latest projector, the GT750, which fits in the company's GameTime line for gamers. The DLP projector displays content in native 720p resolution, with automatic conversion of Blu-ray's HDMI 1.4a 3D signal into 720p 3D. Users can connect game consoles, Mac or PC computers, and other video sources.

Optoma adds one new GameTime projector

Optoma today began shipping its GameTime projectors aimed at computer and console gamers. The DLP-based lineup includes the GT720, GT360 and the newly announced GT700. The former two use short throw lenses and have a 2,500-lumen brightness rating and a 3,000:1 contrast ratio. Both also have a 10W speaker built-in.

Optoma shows two pico projectors with 854x480 resolution

Optoma outs medium resolution pico projectors

Optoma has recently announced the release of two new pico projectors with the PK-201 and PK-301. They share nearly identical specs, but both represent a marked improvement in performance and capabilities compared to the company's current PK-102 projector. The pair has the same 854x480 native resolution, and the PK-301 has a claimed class-leading 50 lumens of brightness when plugged in or powered by the optional auxiliary battery, which gives the device an extra two hours of life. Standard brightness for either is 20 lumens.

Updated PK-102 projector gets music playback

Optoma has began shipping its PK-102 pico projector, its successor to the existing PK-101. Like the PK-101, the PK-102 uses DLP technology and has the same 480x320 resolution and ability to project images up to 60 inches in size. Unlike the PK-101, however, it now has 4GB of built-in storage space and the capability to play back MP3 files from its built-in speaker. At the same time, the PK-102 doubles the contrast ratios of the PK-101 to 2,000:1.

Optoma unveils sub-$1K 1080p projector

Optoma HD20 1080p DLP

Optoma has claimed to raise the stakes for front projectors in releasing the HD20. The DLP-based unit is one of the first ever to produce a 1080p image at just below $1,000 ($999) and gives a way for both computer users and home theaters to view a much larger image, up to 120 inches across, without losing detail. Image quality isn't believed to take a blow as the HD20 still musters a 4,000:1 contrast ratio and 1,700 lumens of brightness.

Optoma iPod mini-projector due for Apple Japan

Optoma PK-101 for iPod

Optoma today said it has struck a deal with Apple Japan to launch its version of Texas Instruments' DLP Pico projector in the country under the PK-101 name. The pocket-sized unit will support both the headphone jack-mounted video output of the fifth-generation iPod but will come with a Dock Connector kit that handles video from iPhones and all video-capable iPods that support TV out, creating a picture as large as 60 inches for Apple's mobile devices.
