Marvell chip platform promises $99 smartphones

Marvell intros entry-level smartphone platform

Marvell has announced a second mobile phone platform this week, after the ARMADA 618, with the Pantheon platform. Marvell executives are saying the chip will pave the way for $99 smartphones that can still connect to data networks, perform 3D gaming, play back high-definition media and run a multitude of apps. The Pantheon chips will have integrated Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and FM radios.
