Puzzle-adventure game Valiant Hearts: The Great War launches for iOS September 4th
Ubisoft has announced today that Valiant Hearts: The Great War will release on September 4 for iOS devices. Set during World War I, the puzzle-adventure game features characters whose narratives are interlinked. Players aim to survive the trenches alongside their canine companions. The new mobile version introduces intuitive touch controls that accommodate the format of mobile devices. Upon release, the game will be available through the App Store.
Venstar Wi-Fi key for thermostat allows for cloud-based control
Venstar has outed its Skyport Wi-Fi key for the ColorTouch thermostat. The key connects the thermostat to Skyport Cloud Services, run by the company, allowing users to monitor and adjust the thermostat from a phone or tablet. The key is a $100 upgrade to the $300 thermostat, with iOS, Android, and Blackberry apps free to download.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 Plus to undercut on price
Samsung brought one of its more important tablets to the US Friday with plans to sell the Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus in the US. The seven-inch tablet should reach the country on November 13 with pre-orders at Amazon, Best Buy, and elsewhere starting October 23. Versions will start at $399 for 16GB of space with Wi-Fi only and bump up to $499 for a 32GB model, albeit only in early 2012.
Peel Personal TV Show Guide app for Android out
Peel has released a version of its Personal TV Show Guide app for Android smartphones (free, Android Market). Like the older iOS app, it allows users to browse custom tailored programming recommendations without the need to scroll through channel grids. The home screen shows Top Picks or favorite shows.
Peel gets 16.7m cash to build mobile TV remote app
Peel began its week by getting a large $16.7 million round of financing. The creator of an iPhone TV remote add-on and independent iOS app planned to both get its "fruit" remote control bridge as well as expand to other platforms and more content sources. Most of the money would come from Lightspeed Venture Partners.
