Google dismisses allegations
European Union regulators have intensified threats over Google's unified privacy policy, which drew criticism early last year following its introduction. The group of 27 regulatory agencies in October advised the company to make a number of changes to the policy, such as a clarification over how personal data will be used, however the search giant has continued to voice confidence that it is not violating European laws.

More work needed; work on privacy overhaul continues
Facebook has passed a review by the governing body that regulates the social network's privacy policy and failures ouside of North America. Ireland's Data Protection Commissioner ordered Facebook to conduct a privacy overhaul for its users outside the United States and Canada after an investigation found its privacy policies were too convoluted and lacked transparency to governing agencies and users.

EPIC says new Google policy in breach of FTC deal
The Electronic Privacy Information Center (EPIC) has sued the Federal Trade Commission for failing to stop Google from initiating recent changes to its privacy agreement with users. According to a brief statement from Epic, Google’s new privacy policy is in violation of an agreement that the FTC reached with Google in March last year following the Google Buzz privacy debacle. EPIC argues that the new policy changes do not give users the an opt in or out option as it agreed to do.
