Second Lumia 928 camera test uses model helicopter, image stabilization
Nokia has formally unveiled the Lumia 928, headed to Verizon as a network-exclusive. The smartphone, previously leaked through a billboard and an advertisement in Vanity Fair, has been revealed before its expected launch event in London on May 14th, with the phone manufacturer keen to continue promoting its 8.7-megapixel PureView camera with Carl Zeiss lens and Xenon flash with another test video.

Rollercoaster ride used to demonstrate low-light capabilities
Nokia is continuing to tease its impending launch of the Lumia 928, by comparing its camera against that of the iPhone 5 and Samsung Galaxy S III. A video on the Nokia website using footage from the three phones claims to show how the 8.7-megapixel PureView camera stands up to those found in competing handsets in low-light conditions.

Phablet said to be more powerful than Samsung's offering
Nokia is planning to make a phablet in order to compete with other similar devices and to suppliment a relatively slow growth in Lumia sales, according to a report. The new device is suggested to be similar in size to the Samsung Galaxy Note, but with a higher specification, and will also run Windows Phone as its operating system.

Nokia set to bring full PureView experience with 'EOS' handset
Nokia is said to be working on a true PureView Windows Phone 8 handset that it plans to bring to market this, reports The Verge. Unlike the Lumia 920, which uses some degree of ‘PureView’ technology, the new handset would incorporate a super high-resolution sensor similar to the 41-megapixel 808 PureView. Sources familiar with the device say that is going by the ‘EOS’ codename internally.

Public apology admits video not shot with Lumia 920
Alongside the launch of the Nokia Lumia 920 phone earlier today, a new feature called "PureView" made its debut. One benefit of PureView is Nokia's optical image stabilization (OIS), as demonstrated in promotional media, featuring a couple recording with the phone as they ride down a river road. The ad showed side-by-side video, representing the OIS feature in action. Nokia has since confirmed in an apology that the video was not shot with the Lumia 920 as originally represented, but by a film crew with physical stabilization, on a truck riding alongside the couple.

Lumia 920 gets wireless charging as standard, more
At its Windows Phone 8 launch event today, Nokia took the wraps off its new Windows Phone flagship, the Lumia 920. The high-end device sports a curved, 4.5-inch Pure Motion HD+ touchscreen with 720p resolution and is powered by a dual-core, 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 processor. It includes a built-in wireless inductive charging system and an NFC chip for close-proximity, wireless data transfers.

Nokia phones also bound for Verizon
The imaging technology powering Nokia's 808 PureView will soon be making its way into the company's Lumia line of Windows handsets. This according to Nokia Vice President of Worldwide Developer Relations Richard Kerris. Kerris spoke recently with Neowin, revealing that the company is working to bring novel technologies to its handsets and to expand the number of carriers supporting Nokia smartphones.

Elop hints at "other smartphones" with PureView technology
Nokia CEO Stephen Elop appears to have hinted that the company is working on bringing its PureView camera technology to multiple Windows Phone 8 devices some time in the future. PureView is the technology behind the 41-megapixel 808 Pureview smartphone, which was recently released in the United States but features Nokia's now-defunct Symbian Belle operating system. Elop gave no details, but his statement is in keeping with previous indications that PureView would be appearing on Microsoft's forthcoming mobile operating system.

Screenshots reveal Drive 3.0, Camera UI
Tech blog Nokia Innovation has reportedly received leaked screenshots of Microsoft's forthcoming Windows Phone 8 operating system. The screenshots, which come by way of an anonymous source, appear to show off the WP8 user interface for the camera app, Skype, and also Nokia Drive 3.0, which would indicate that they were taken from one of Nokia's four rumored Windows Phone handsets.

41-megapixel cameraphone now coming to North America
Nokia has for some time now been showing off the capabilities of its PureView 808, a 41-megapixel smartphone with considerable photo and video capturing prowess. The phone has been available for pre-order in a number of countries, and Nokia has talked up the phone's impending launch worldwide, with the exception of the United States and Canada. Now, in an interview with PC Magazine, Nokia's US president Chris Weber has revealed that the PureView 808 will indeed be coming to American shores, but details on its arrival remain sketchy.

Promo video shot with 41MP Nokia phone
In a stylish new promo video (below), Nokia has chosen to show the photo and video capturing prowess of its 41-megapixel 808 PureView smartphone. Instead of simply recording the phone at work, the video itself was shot entirely using the 808, taking advantage of its 41-megapixel resolution to zoom in and out of scenes without losing detail.

Belle FP1 speeds processor and other improvements
Nokia are today rolling out its previously announced Belle Feature Pack 1 firmware for the Nokia 701, 700 and 603. Over the air updates now available include a processor boost from 1GHz to 1.3GHz, a version 8.2 web browser, and new widgets, amongst other improvements.

41-megapixel camera phone to run Symbian OS
Nokia has put up its 808 PureView smartphone
up for pre-order on its Italian website. The phone is most notable for its 41-megapixel camera and that it still runs the Nokia Belle (Symbian) OS instead of Windows Phone. Nokia is expected to begin shipping the phone SIM free (unlocked), priced at €599 ($785 USD) in May.

Nokia hiring PureView for Windows Phone engineer
Earlier hints from a Nokia exec about a PureView-badged phone running on Windows Phone have gained more traction thanks to a newly discovered LinkedIn job post. Thus far, the company only confirmed that a Symbian-powered 808 PureView (shown) is coming, but a Lumia variant is evidently on the way. The job ad seeks a Senior Specialist for imaging algorithms for Windows Phone, and the 808 PureView is directly referenced.

Nokia talks about the history of 41MP sensor
Nokia's 808 PureView smartphone, with its industry-beating 41-megapixel sensor, was more than five years in the making at the company, and the company's Damian Dinning now revealed the project was inspired by satellite imaging tech. Nokia has experimented with folding optics for zoom, but found the solution to be slow and noisy, before realizing images taken by satellites use large resolution sensors and then crop the image and zoom in a specific part of the image.

Nokia PureView tech to spread to new OS soon
Nokia's Smart Devices Executive VP Jo Harlow in commentary this weekend gave hints that the 808 PureView's extreme camera technology would come to Windows Phone devices soon. Echoing some sentiments from the end of the live event at Mobile World Congress, she told Aamulehti that it would "not take very long." She couldn't divulge when, although it's possible that Apollo (Windows Phone 8) in late 2012 may be an opportunity.

Nokia Belle Feature Pack 1 promised within months
Nokia has provided many more details of Belle Feature Pack 1, which will arrive on some of its new smartphones starting this spring. The first to get it when it arrives is the 808 PureView. While the focus will be on boosting the entertainment experience for users, Nokia in a surprise step said it would boost the processor speed of the Nokia 700 and 701 by a full 30 percent with the update, from a 1GHz clock to 1.3GHz.
