Samsung may use Chinese firm to make iPad 3 LCDs
An atypical leak on Sunday saw the the manufacturing roots of the reported iPad 3's display more than the displays themselves. With the 2048x1536 resolution already identified, a WePost.me forum contribution showed what's claimed to be shots from contractor Radiant Opto-Electronics' plant as it shipped a batch of the new screens. Although located in Wujiang, near Shanghai, the displays are labeled and boxed as Samsung displays that are reportedly shipped to Samsung in Korea before they reach Apple.
HTC Radiant seen as LTE variant on Titan
The HTC Radiant has been given its first sighting on Thursday at the same time as Microsoft was fixing existing phones. The hardware caught by PocketNow is superficially similar to the Titan but clear changes to the logo and front camera that suggest either larger cosmetics or, more likely, a smaller phone than the 4.7-inch ancestor. Slight changes to the camera and a non-removable battery may be the other external changes.
ATT may have three 4G Windows Phones at CES intro
Quickly coming on the heels of the HTC Radiant and Samsung Mandel leaks, a second potential scoop may have filled in considerably more detail with US launch plans. Windows-focused writer Paul Thurott understood that the Mendel and Radiant would be joined by the Nokia Ace, likely the Lumia 900, on AT&T. All three would have LTE-based 4G and ship before mid-2012, with an introduction at the AT&T and Nokia events at CES.
HTC, Samsung to get early LTE Windows Phone update
Microsoft's promised LTE support in Windows Phone may come very early with two devices. A leak Thursday to The Verge had two devices, the HTC Radiant and Samsung Mandel, running an interim version of the OS that would predate Tango but add 4G. Little is known about either device besides that the Mandel would likely have a larger screen than the 4.3-inch Focus S (shown).
