The HTC Amaze 4G, also referred to as the HTC Ruby has leaked again, this time in clearer shots and in black. Previous leaks have shown a white model, strongly suggesting that it will be available in at least two hues when it eventually goes on sale. The distinctive grille at the top of this version also seems to indicate that it an almost certain starter for the T-Mobile network.
HTC has allegedly chosen the name Amaze 4G to represent the handset that so far has been referred to as the Ruby. Amaze is only one of many terms that have appeared in HTC's trademark applications, separately in the US and Europe, however unnamed sources have told Pocketnow the label will be tied to the Ruby smartphone rather than another unannounced handset.
The upcoming Samsung Hercules and the HTC Ruby Android smartphones will come to T-Mobile on October 26 according to a leaked back to school slide. Spotted by TmoNews, the date may still change, especially since the end of October is late to be classified as a back to school special. The Ruby will sport a dual-core 1.5GHz Snapdragon chip and a 4.3-inch, 540x960 display.
The forthcoming HTC Ruby has had its specs revealed. The Android device will be powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core processor and will center on a 4.3-inch qHD display. It will also be equipped with dedicated camera and video buttons, which will activate either its 8-megapixel rear camera or its 2-megapixel front camera.
The recently-spotted HTC Ruby handset has now been tied to T-Mobile thanks to a new image posted by PocketNow. Specs of the Android-powered device aren't known at this time, however. The handset resembles a cross between HTC's Sensation and myTouch.
A new HTC handset, purported to be the HTC Ruby, has been photographed and appears in the reflection of an HTC Flyer tablet in a Flickr photo stream. The poster, Raymi0402, has somewhat oddly, taken the photo in a reflection off the screen of what appears to be an HTC Flyer tablet. All that can be identified from the photo is the top half of the rear of the device, which does in the end reveal quite a decent portion of the device and gives people a sense of what it looks like.
Bare Bones has released v9.0 of BBEdit, its text and code editing software. The key addition to the software is said to be the addition of Projects, which replace file groups, and allow users to directly create, delete and rename files and folders. The contents of Projects can be searched, as well as processed through text factories.
An Apple technician has identified a vulnerability in the Ruby development platform, a security warning explains. Drew Yao of the Apple Product Security team is said to have discovered multiple arbitrary code vulnerabilities, which if exploited could be used to run a denial-of-service attack, or other local means of undermining a system. The vulnerabilities only impact specific versions of Ruby 1.8.4 through 1.8.7, and 1.9.
The Alchemist Guild has announced the release of WebScripter 2.0, a new release of the integrated development environment (IDE) for programming in several popular web scripting languages such as: PERL, PHP, CSS, HTML/XML, JavaScript and Ruby. The tool offers features including: text editing, previewing web pages, testing scripts, managing projects, navigating code and FTP integration. The developer says that in this release, the original concept was scrapped and redesigned from the ground up with a modern OS X GUI using tabs for editing and split views for integrating features into a single window. The new design is "compact, concise and helps to keep the user in close contact with the experience. WebScripter 2.0 is priced at $40.
