No word on future of magnetic connectors

Sanho, HyperMac's parent company, has agreed to change its sub-brand's name in the wake of an Apple lawsuit which forced it to stop selling products with MagSafe adapters. Also targeted have been batteries which come with 30-pin dock connectors meant for iOS handhelds. "In the coming weeks, the 'HyperMac' brand name will be renamed to 'HyperJuice' as part of our ongoing comprehensive licensing negotiations with Apple regarding a wide array of technologies and issues," says Sanho president Daniel Chin in a press release.

Battery will continue to be sold without adapters

HyperMac has announced that it will cease selling its external battery supply unit with MagSafe adapters. According to Sanho, the parent company of HyperMac, the move is in direct response to the lawsuit brought against it by Apple. In its open letter, notably bereft of references to the MagSafe trademark, HyperMac states that ‘As part of our ongoing comprehensive negotiations with Apple regarding a wide array of technologies and issues, we have decided to cease the sale of Macbook charging cables and car charger on November 2, 2010.’

Sanho's MacBook charging cables are notably advertised as using actual MagSafe connectors, taken from recycled Apple products.
