Scosche has revealed availability of the BoomBottle, a new mobile speaker for streaming music while biking, hiking, camping, and other activities needing a durable speaker set. The IP4X-rated weatherproof construction on the device protects the BoomBottle from unexpected weather, sweat and other moisture.
New wall and car chargers Lightning compatible
Scosche Industries today became the first accessory manufacturer to show off 5W and 12W wall and car chargers compatible with Apple's Lightning adapter standard. The new chargers come as Scosche also eliminates 10W chargers from its lineup, due to the fact that they do not provide maximum charging speeds for the fourth-generation iPad. The new chargers are compatible with the iPad mini, with the 12W unit fully charging the smaller tablet in three hours.
Armband tracks and stores workout data, provides analysis
Consumer electronics manufacture Scosche has unveiled the Rhythm, a pulse monitor and iOS app combo providing users a simple way to manage, track, and analyze workouts. The device combines to alternating LEDs with a photo sensor for accurate measurement of user's pulse, with an accelerometer allowing the device to adjust for movement during exercise, allowing measurement of calories burned, speed, pace, route, and distance.
Cables adapt micro USB to new connector format
A source for iLounge has leaked photos of alleged Scosche accessories for Apple's new dock connector format. The gear -- identified as a "syncABLE Pro" wall charger, and a "reNUE Pro" car charger -- comes with adapter cables meant to allow a micro USB plug to attach to Apple devices. Scosche is also said to be working on multiple versions of the chargers with different levels of power support.
Portable device plays eight hours on one battery charge
Gadget-maker Scosche Industries has announced the availability of the BoomStream Bluetooth 2.1 wireless media speaker. A built-in microphone can be used for speakerphone capability with either Android or iOS devices.
Scosche Realm line boosted with four new models
Scosche has released the latest in the Realm line of on-ear, reference-grade headphones. The new models are all powered by 40mm drivers, and feature copper voice coils and rare-earth neodymium magnets. Ear cushioning is provided by viscoelastic memory foam that softens in response to body heat, and conforms to the listener's ear shape. Two models, the RH656md and RH656m on-ear headphones, boast Scosche's Siri-compatible tapLINE III control and microphone, which allows users to play, pause, adjust volume, activate voice control, and perform hands-free calling. The RH656md in black and RH656m in white retail for $130. The models without the microphone, the RH600bk (black) and RH600w (white) run $100.
Scosche Realm shows high-end headphones, earbuds
Scosche just revealed two new earphone sets under its Realm brand. The high-end over-the-ear headphones are made up of the RH1056md in either black or white as well as the IEM856m in-ear headphones in the same color choices. The former have 40mm drivers and use precision-wound copper voice coils and rare-earth neodymium magnets. The pads use memory foam that softens when warmed up to conform to the wearer's ears.
Both companies shipping new lines in late March
Leading iPad accessory makers Booq and Scosche have announced cases and other accessories for the new iPad 2, and both companies say they will hit the market within the month. Folio and carrying case maker Booq showcases their Booqpad, which combines a folio case for the iPad 2 with "the original tablet -- an actual paper notepad. Scosche, on the other hand, offers not just cases but a full line of accessories, including a waterproof Bluetooth mini-keyboard and several iPad 2-compatible charging options.
Flip Mino, Ultra upgraded as we review Ultra HD
Cisco tonight unveiled a new slate of Flip cameras that promise a major lift in video quality. The Flip Ultra HD 2 hour and both 1 hour (4GB) and 2 hour (8GB) versions of the Flip Mino HD now shoot 720p video at 60 frames per second, improving their ability to handle motion and the perceived clarity. A gyroscopic image stabilization system is also new and prevents many of the more sudden jitters common to a pocket camcorder.
New Scosche case offers 4 iPad display views
Speck has launched three new iPad bags, while Scosche has unveiled the foldIO iPad case. Speck's A-Line 10 is a handbag-style product with a zippered, padded and microfleece-lined main compartment. Two zippered pockets in the interior store other items, and include passthroughs for headphone cords. The A-10 comes in gray and purple, black and gray, or brown and red.
Cases, armbands, screen protectors, socks offered
In the wake of Apple's announcements of a new iPod touch and iPod nano come a slew of case announcements from Scosche, iLuv and Easyishop. Scosche is launching multiple cases, six designs for the Touch and two for the Nano. Scosche is leading with its kickBACK t4 case, featuring an integrated kickstand for landscape video viewing on the 4th generation iPod touch. The new kickBACK t4 has a glossy polycarbonate exterior and an impact resistant rubber interior. It will be available in black, grey and white with grey molding. The Scosche switchKASE t4 combines a kickBACK t4 and a smooth silicone skin with a removable sport armband.
Scosche outs dual USB chargers for iPad
Scosche on Tuesday revealed two USB chargers for the home and car built specifically for the iPad. The reVIVE II dual USB chargers sport one 2.1 Amp USB port for charging the more demanding iPad and a 1 Amp USB port for charging additional devices such as cellphones. For home use, there is the USBH3, while in-car users have the choice of the USBC3.
Scosche ships cases with kickstands for media view
Scosche and CAZE have launched new cases for the iPhone 4. Scosche has eight new cases and three new screen protectors. The kickBACK g4 features a kickstand for media viewing and a glossy polycarbonate exterior with a flexible rubber interior in black, grey and white with grey modeling.
Scosche flipSYNC gives iPhone power on keychain
Scosche has wrapped up the week by shipping the promised flipSYNC. The charger is roughly the size of a car's key fob and unfolds to both charge and sync any device that connects to a USB 2.0 port. An Apple-specific version charges dockable iPhones and iPods, but a standardized version will also link up micro and mini USB connections from phones and other handhelds.
Scosche IDR in-ears get better remotes
Scosche this afternoon revamped its in-ear headphones with four new designs. The IDR305m, IDR355md, IDR355m and IDR655m all have better in-line remotes that are moved to the Y split to make them easier to control. The microphone is also higher on the right side to better pick up the wearer's voice.
Scosche puts out second-gen solar charger
Accessory maker Scosche today put out the solBAT II as its second wave of solar-powered external batteries. The pack gives iPhones, iPods and most handheld USB devices a 1,500mAh lithium-ion pack whose sun recharging lets it provide "free" energy to keep a device going. A single charge is estimated to be enough to power a typical cellphone twice over, though it's not known how efficiently it works for smartphones; Scosche says the add-on behaves like a maximum 5V wall adapter.
Scosche IDR350M earphones
Scosche Industries recently announced it is now shipping its iPhone and iPod certified and compatible IDR350M (Increased Dynamic Range) noise isolating earphones. The earphones have an integrated remote and microphone control called tapLINE that lets them navigate their music library, adjust the volume, record voice memos or talk on their iPhone. Users of 2009-era devices like the third-generation iPod shuffle and iPhone 3GS can also invoke special features like VoiceOver or Voice Control.
Scosche has quietly addressed the complaints of third-generation iPod shuffle owners today by introducing the tapSTICK. The device serves both as a case for the Apple player but also plugs into the headphone jack to place volume and selection buttons on top of the iPod itself, granting control over the player without needing specially authenticated earbuds. A pass-through jack lets owners either use their own earphones or else plug into aux-in jacks and other devices that normally wouldn't work with the shuffle.
Scosche solar BT speaker
Scosche on Tuesday announced the release of a Bluetooth phone speaker that gets energy for its lithium ion battery from a solar panel. The device, called solCHAT, has integrated voice technology that speaks out the names or numbers of incoming calls. The digital voice also talks users through the initial set-up process when pairing up compatible phones or other devices. Once set up, the solCHAT will automatically pair with users' phones when they are in range and set up for the sync. When phones are out of range, the device automatically powers down to save its battery life.
Monster iPod shuffle Plans
Monster Cable today pledged new versions of its headphones that would support the third-generation iPod shuffle. The company's existing Beats and Turbine headphones, as well as unspecified new models, will all get an in-line control to navigate tracks as well as to trigger VoiceOver. An adapter is also planned to let any headphone from any company share the same features.

Scosche today quickly claimed itself as the second company after Klipsch to offer in-ear headphones designed for the third-generation iPod shuffle. The IDR350M, IDR450M and IDR650M all have a new in-line remote that provides all the navigation, volume and VoiceOver features needed for the shuffle while also including a microphone for users of current-generation iPod classic, iPod nano and iPod touch models. They also have a purported enhanced dynamic range that allows deeper bass without hurting treble or the mid-range.
