Prototype notebook screen equals Retina pixel density
Samsung put a prototype Series 9 notebook on show at IFA 2012, complete with a high-resolution WQHD display and running Windows 8. The 13-inch notebook's display was seen to have a resolution of 2560x1440, far exceeding others in the same product range with 1600x1200 screens, despite being diminutive in size.

PLS panel receives hour of calibration at factory
Samsung has started shipping its Series 9 LED monitor to the US. The 27-inch monitor, aimed at design professionals, uses an exclusive Natural Color Expert Technology, which claims to provide a richer viewing experience. A separately sold sensor performs the in-home adjustments using the built-in calibration engine, with an hour-long adjustment process also applied at the factory.

Redesigned Samsung Series 9 ultra inbound
Samsung’s redesigned Series 9 ultrabook in its 15-inch form factor is now available for pre-order with at least one online US retailer, although specific availability was not mentioned. Only noted as ‘Coming Soon,’ the 15-inch model will also be joined by a 13-inch model expected to become available through Best Buy and CompUSA in the next few weeks. A 15-inch iteration hit the Korean market yesterday and is shipping with a Core i7-23637M ULV processor and a 256GB solid-state drive.

Samsung Series 9, result of 33,000 R&D
Samsung has delivered a streamlined sequel to the original Series 9 notebook in what amounts to a much thinner aluminum unibody package, but also delivering better performance. The new notebook has also been designed to pack in a 15-inch 1600x900 display in a 14-inch chassis. The new Series 9 also weighs just 2.5 pounds and is only half an inch thick.

New monitor to be displayed at CES
Samsung has introduced a high-end display, labeled the Series 9 monitor, that will be displayed next week at CES in Las Vegas. The panel appears to be aimed at Apple's Thunderbolt Display and similar monitors, matching the 27-inch panel size and 2560x1440 resolution.
