Shrike update teased at PAX Prime made official, upgrades include DPI, LED lighting

Tesoro officially announced the update to the Shrike laser gaming mouse today, a new version that the company had on display at Penny Arcade Expo earlier this month. The mouse retains the same styling and some of the features of the original Shrike, including the adjustable weight system, eight programmable buttons and 128KB memory. The sensor in the mouse has been updated, bumping the DPI from 5600dpi to 8200dpi. An improved version of the software is being released for the mouse, with the LED color programming updated as well.

New Tizona LED, Excalibur LED and Shrike mouse put on display with company's catalog

At Penny Arcade Expo in Seattle, peripheral manufacturer Tesoro put a number of new devices on display for consumers, including new keyboards and mice. Some new devices, including an LED version of the Tizona, the recently-announced Excalibur LED, and a new version of the Shrike mouse are said to be coming to the market in the next two months.

AMD Fusion chip to use Phenom CPU, advanced ATI GPU

AMD's upcoming CPU/GPU chip will extend its portfolio of products as its rivals continue to search for new markets. On the heels of the Intel's Larrabee GPU unveiling on Monday and news of NVIDIA's upcoming integrated chip potentially finding its way into Apple's notebooks, leaks have revealed more details on AMD's Fusion "half-node" CPU/GPU combo chip -- which was in large part, one of the largest justification in AMD's acquisition of ATI. Citing industry sources, the TGDaily report indicates that AMD's half-node chip, due in Q1 of next year, will be manufactured by contract chip manufacturer TSMC, whose manufacturing headquarters on the main island of Taiwan (called Formosa). As the successor to the Puma platform, the first chip based on Fusion technology, code-named "Shrike," will integrate a dual-core Phenom CPU and an ATI RV800 GPU core, rather than the previously rumored dual-core Kuma CPU and a RV710-based graphics unit.

AMD Turion Ultra, Puma details surface

Details of AMD's planned announcements at Computex have emerged, OEM sources for TG Daily are said to claim. The Puma platform is expected to be launched at the beginning of the show, June 3rd, and will feature the "Griffin" CPU, now named the Turion Ultra. Also said to be included is the RS780M, a mobile version of the 780G chipset; on this will be a Mobility Radeon 3200 graphics chip, and Wi-Fi receivers from the likes of Atheros and Broadcom.
