Analyst has Xoom sales at just 300,000 in Q1

Motorola Xoom sales might peak at just 300,000 devices in its first quarter, Morgan Keegan analyst Tavis McCourt said in a research note Friday. Checks saw an average of about two Xooms sold per day at Verizon stores, which led McCourt to the figure. Best Buy wasn't necessarily accounted for and might have added to the total.

But is it enough to tempt those who would buy a low-end Android device or iPhone instead? Read our BlackBerry Style review to find out.

The CEO noted that most iPads were Wi-Fi versions and that he had seen a boost to sales of the Sierra Wireless Overdrive. The pocket router is good for getting the iPad online away from home, he told GigaOM. It can connect to either 3G or 4G and share its connection with four other devices, none of which are options with the iPad's built-in 3G.
