Dropbox, iCloud compatibility, Blowfish encryption
Portland, Oregon-based mSeven Software has announced the launch of mSecure 3.0, a cross-platform password and security manager for Mac, Windows, iOS and Android systems. The new version offers 17 pre-categorized groups for passwords, as well as the ability to generate new custom groups and favorites for fast access. It also features improved data security when syncing with "cloud"-based services such as Dropbox and (when available) iCloud.

App syncs images, music, contacts, SMS, more
Eltima has launched an update of its sync tool, SyncMate 3.1. The software syncs data from Macs to other Macs, PCs and a wide variety of mobile and external storage devices. Version 3.1 adds syncing of images, videos, contacts, calendars, Entourage and Mail notes, folders and Stickies to iOS devices -- any iPhone, iPod touch or iPad running iOS 3 or iOS 4 -- and can mount iPhones as a Mac disk for access to the call history and SMS messages on the phone. Dropbox sync has also been added.

Beta allows sync over WiFi, USB, Bluetooth
Eltima has launched a beta of its new SyncMate software, featuring direct sync for Android phones. The software already syncs Macs with Windows Mobile and Nokia S40 phones, and offered a workaround using Google accounts for Android users. Version 3 offers direct Android to Mac syncing, with mounting in the finder for a full view of the phone's content, over WiFi, USB and Bluetooth. Sync with a Google account is still included in v3 as an option. The software can also sync with other Macs, PCs, Sony PSPs and USB flash drives.

Software a good first effort on the Mac side
MacNN has reviewed PCsync for Mac, describing how the recently PC-only software works with its new Mac-host that allows for PC-to-Mac syncing. The syncs are good but Mac-PC file-naming differences are an issue and the Mac software feels like PC software, in that it is slightly counter-intuitive.

Synchronize media between Mac and KIN phones
Mark/Space has introduced KIN Media Sync for Mac, a new version of its synchronization software designed for the new KIN ONE and KIN TWO mobile phones. The program allows users to sync a wide range of different media including music, photos or video. With music, users can sync full playlists created in iTunes, as well as individual songs or entire albums. Photos which are taken with the KIN phones can be synced with iPhoto, while iPhoto albums can be transferred to the KIN

Sync files between the KIN mobile phone and Mac
Mark/Space revealed that previously mysterious Mac syncing for the Microsoft KIN phones will be handled by its software. The KIN Media Sync for Mac brings tools for syncing music files and photo albums between the phone and Mac, as well as transferring other forms of media including podcasts and videos. Additionally, the software is designed to work with other Mac-based media applications such as iTunes and iPhoto, and is said to have a similar interface.

Content migrated via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth
Mark/Space has introduced an update to The Missing Sync for Android. Version 1.3 adds the ability to sync a PC or Mac with an Android handset without using a cable. Users can choose either Wi-Fi or Bluetooth options to sync content such as contacts, music, photos, or other files. The update also offers notes syncing, as the company's Fliq Notes app is now available for the Android platform.

Apple prevents Palm Pre sync with latest iTunes
Apple has made sure to prevent Palm Pre owners from syncing their smartphones with the iTunes 9 update released Wednesday, according to several user reports posted on PreCentral's forums. The company has worked to prevent compatibility, starting with iTunes 8.2.1, after publishing a technical note warning users that third party phones would not be able to sync.

Reallusion recently unveiled CrazyTalk 5.0, a major update to its 3D character animation and lip-syncing application, adding support for non-human characters, enhanced facial meshes, and more. CrazyTalk 5.0 features real-time puppeteer control through the mouse or other input device, as well as five default puppet profiles, which can give the avatar a wicked, goofy, youthful, attractive, or grumpy demeanor. Missing Sync for Leopard
Mark/Space recently announced some Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard compatibility updates and betas of its various incarnations of Missing Sync, as well as a new online support service. After a self-imposed formal commitment to Leopard compatibility, final versions are available for Missing Sync for BlackBerry and Missing Sync for Sony PSP, with Leopard-savvy betas available for Missing Sync for Palm OS and Missing Sync for Windows Mobile. Mark/Space notes, however, that SyncTogether has not been optimized for Apple's newest operating system, and they advise against using the app under that condition. Pricing for new Missing Sync users starts at $30.
