CDMA iPhone 4 may need SIM for Japan and Korea
The appearance of what's claimed to be a CDMA iPhone prototype has raised the possibility that it might be a dual-mode CDMA/GSM phone. Backs notion of Verizon iPhone
Two CDMA-based carriers in India are negotiating with Apple for the iPhone, sources tell the Wall Street Journal. The companies are Reliance Communications and Tata Teleservices, the latter of which at least has allegedly been in talks for four to five months. Although there is no indication of when either carrier might launch, the news is thought to be more evidence that Apple is building a CDMA iPhone, primarily for a debut with Verizon in early 2011.

Indian carriers upgraded networks for BB snooping
Two major Indian carriers informed the government their networks are newly upgraded and now ready to let government agencies monitor messages sent through BlackBerry smartphones, a Thursday report maintained. Bharti Airtel and Tata Teleservices have worked with RIM after the BlackBerry maker was given a 60-day extension. One unnamed source said the new networks were tested by a team consisting of members representing the operators, security agencies and RIM.
