The Pogo Connect pressure-sensitive stylus for iPad by Ten One Design is now shipping for $80. It is the first pressure sensitive stylus for the iPad that uses the latest ultra-low power Bluetooth 4.0 specification that also makes pairing with the Bluetooth 4.0 compatible third-generation iPad automatic, when in range. Although the device ships with a large nub, the tip is removable and will be compatible with a range of interchangeable tips set to arrive in the near future.

The Fling Joystick for iPad is one of the more interesting accessories available for the iPad and other tablets. With the graphics capabilities of tablets approaching console quality, the biggest hurdle facing in-depth gaming on capacitive touchscreen devices is the lack of physical controls. Similar comments were of course leveled at the iPhone when it first launched back in 2007 without a physical keyboard, but those concerns soon evaporated. However, the volume selling games on both iPhone and iPad tend to be the casual games that rely on simple touch gestures. Yet, there are a number of first person shooters that use virtual single dual stick controls that look appealing, but aren't quite as popular.

Ten One Design outs rare pressure-sensitive stylus for iPad

Pressure-sensitive design uses BlueTooth 4.0

Ten One design has unveiled a prototype of a pressure-sensitive stylus for iPads in hopes that it would be an ideal fit for the next iPad. The writing implement, codenamed "Blue Tiger," that uses Bluetooth 4.0 to automatically connect to the iPad. The app that drives the stylus has embedded palm rejection, which prevents anything but the pen itself from being used to input information.
