Servers belonging to the United States Postal Service (USPS) have been hacked, it has been revealed. The latest major organization to suffer an intrusion, following a string of retailers, data belonging to more than 800,000 USPS employees have been compromised, including the postmaster general's, in a breach which was discovered in mid-September.

Amazon provides Sunday delivery options to customers through USPS deal

Customers in New York, Los Angeles can receive orders on a Sunday

Amazon will start offering deliveries of orders to customers on Sunday, thanks to an unusual deal with the US Postal Service. Customers in metropolitan areas will be able to place orders on a Friday for arrival on the Sunday, and is the latest move by the online retailer to provide more delivery options for its customers.

The United States Postal Service (USPS) plans to start performing same-day deliveries. A filing to the Postal Regulatory Commission tells of an experimental service called Metro Post, designed for online retailers to provide same-day deliveries of goods to customers in metropolitan areas.

USPS to discontinue postage-free Mac shipping

USPS and Mac support

Mac owners may soon find themselves inconvenienced when trying to ship packages online, a note from the US Postal Service indicates. For some time the USPS has let people pay for shipping online through its web-based Click-N-Ship service, which eliminates the need to buy physical postage. The pay-without-postage service is being discontinued after May 12th however, which will force customers to use the USPS Shipping Assistant software if they want to avoid buying postage separately.
