Smart TV chip handles HDTV, streaming internet
Embedded chip specialist ARM announced that it has partnered with Panasonic to develop a system-on-a-chip solution for set-top boxes. The system is based on ARM's dual core Cortex A9 processor. It also uses ARM's Corelink network interconnect to handle streaming data. Dubbed the Uniphier MN2WS0220, the company claims its system is now the fastest on the market and uses 40 percent less power than its current generation.
