Headset includes chorus, reverb, delay effects
Vox Amplification and Audio-Technica have worked together to create a pair of headphones built for guitarists. Called Amphones, the headsets can be used conventionally, but also contain a built-in guitar or bass amplifier. The included amp allows a guitar to be played and listened to by the musician at times where noise is an issue, such as when others are sleeping.

100+ titles available through Nook Comics store
Both Barnes & Noble and Kobo have started to offer Dark Horse Comics' graphic novels for the Nook Tablet, Nook Color, and Kobo Vox. Over 100 of the company's titles will be available for purchase and downloading through the Nook Comics and Kobo stores. Previously, they had been available for iOS devices.

Kobo to ship Vox tablet on October 28 for $200
Kobo has now officially revealed its 7-inch Vox Android tablet, offering it p for pre-order. It will cost $200 and sport an 800MHz processor along with 512MB of RAM. For storage, 8GB is built-in and up to 32GB more can be added thanks to an SD memory card.

Kobo Vox leaks on Future Shop, due October 17
Kobo's seven-inch Vox Android tablet very briefly showed up on Canadian retailer's Future Shop website on Thursday, though it has since been pulled, The Digital Reader reported. Despite this, official specs were gleaned, and an image capture of the webpage in question is available. The price tag was set at $250 CAD ($242) and the release date was October 17, at least in Canada.

Kobo Vox eReader tablet undergoes FCC testing
A new mystery e-book reader tablet from Kobo has just showed up undergoing FCC testing. While not much is known about it, other than the Kobo Vox name and an eReader Tablet description, it does also appear to have a touchscreen. The profile photo also reveals a microUSB port and a headphone jack, suggesting some sort of multimedia capabilities.

BT VoIP and HTC Phones
BT on Wednesday formally rolled out Total Broadband Anywhere, its own approach to merging Internet and phone service. The plan gives users both an 8Mbps DSL connection from the British carrier but also two phone offerings that promise to avoid the need for traditional cellphone or landline service. A home router known as the BT Home Hub provides the basic connection and creates a Wi-Fi connection in addition to including a cordless voice-over-Internet phone for making calls when at home; the feature allows much less expensive calling, particularly over long distances.

HTC Dual Mode Slider
HTC has developed a technology for slider phones that could make them both more useful and more elegant, according to a new US patent filing. Rather than rely on either dual sliders (as with the Helio Ocean) or other complicated designs, the prototype would include a unique keyboard plate and slider track that would allow users to shift the LCD from calling to text modes without significantly impacting the size of the phone.

Verizon SMT5800 Phone
Verizon has used CES to introduce the SMT5800, its own adaptation of the HTC Vox smartphone. Like its reference model, the device attempts to merge the best of candybar phones with full-keyboard phones by including a conventional number pad on the front but hiding a slide-out QWERTY keyboard on the side. Windows Mobile 6 and its accompanying Office Mobile are preloaded and help check 'push' mail and contacts through Outlook as well as provide basic Excel, PowerPoint, and Word editing away from work.
