Wikipad reaches United Kingdom with controller dock, price increase

The Wikipad Android tablet is making its way to the United Kingdom next month, long after its expected launch alongside the US model. The tablet, with a Tegra 3 processor, 1GB of RAM, a 7-inch 1280x800 IPS display, and 16GB of storage, will be bundled with its dockable controller at launch. It will go on sale from September 27th for 250 ($390), an increase in price from the $250 US model.

Gaming tablet is bundled with controller, includes PlayStation Mobile store

The Wikipad Android tablet for gaming will be going on sale in the US next week. The tablet, which uses an optional docking controller and recently passed through the FCC for certification, will be released in the United States and the United Kingdom from June 11th, which will then be followed by a "global launch planned for this summer."

Gaming tablet shown without detachable controller, display removed

The Wikipad has reached the FCC for testing, with the federal filing showing off the tablet without its detachable controller. The retooled gaming tablet, complete with the smaller 7-inch display instead of the 10.1-inch version it was originally shown to have, is pictured by the Commission with and without its back cover, along with profile shots of its internal circuitry.

Wikipad Android tablet gets Gaikai's web gaming

Streaming game service Gaikai, which teamed up with Walmart last year on browser-based game demos, is back in the news. This time around, it has partnered with electronics manufacturer Wikipad to bring its games to an Android-based tablet. The tablet has grown to include a 10.1-inch screen rather than the 8.1-inch version when it was shown off at CES.
