Removes Windows SP downgrade option
Microsoft will let users of Windows 8 Pro downgrade if they wish. A change to the operating system licensing agreement allows users that don't like the way Windows 8 works to replace it with Windows 7 or Windows Vista at no extra charge, however this will not be possible for the basic Windows 8 and Windows RT versions.

Users get limited supportt for next 5 years
Effective tomorrow, users running Microsoft Windows Vista operating system will be entering a different support phase for all versions of the OS. Up until now, the OS, which originally was released in 2007, had been supported under the company's "Mainstream Support" phase. Under the new "extended support" classification, Microsoft will provide only security updates and paid support for both retail and business versions of the OS for five years until April 11, 2017.

webOS 1.4.5 for Verizon, AT&T Pre Plus now out
Just over a month after the release of webOS 1.4.5 for Sprint's Palm Pre, Pixi and Pixi Plus and Pre Plus handsets, the Verizon and AT&T versions are getting their own software updates. Like in the other handsets, the newest software brings with better support for 3D gaming and other PDK features in the Plus variants, longer battery life and an improved Mobile Hotspot functionality with Windows Vista 64-bit.

iMac and Mac Pro firmware and drivers also revised
Apple has released several Boot Camp and firmware updates designed for 64-bit or 32-bit versions of Windows 7. Boot Camp 3.1 adds full support for Windows 7 Home Premium, Professional, and Ultimate. The update addresses issues involving trackpads and the red LED for digital audio, while the company's wireless keyboard and Magic mouse are also now supported. For users planning to transition from Windows Vista to 7, a separate utility ensures that the Macintosh volume will safely unmount on Vista.

Bell offers 3G USB modem
Bell Mobility on Monday announced it is now offering the Ovation U760 Micro Modem from Novatel Wireless, giving users access to the largest 3G data network in Canada. At just over two inches long, the U760 is the smallest EVDO USB modem and features a microSD memory card slot to hold up to 8GB of data and double as a USB flash drive.
